It was not possible to install using flyffy mod; I manually extracted the files and replaced them. But after startup the screen is dark. No logos, nothing. What could be wrong? RTX version. Not with Steam. In Flyffy itself, when I pressed the slider to install mods, the log says: fluffy mod manager pax canceling mod install at one time or something similar..
Went ahead and tested the full version with 16gb of VRAM (RTX 4080S), at 4k ultrawide with RT enabled you're not going to have a smooth experience, let's just say that. So back to the lite version I go. I wish there was a middle ground version that didn't go as balls to the wall as the full version while still being a bit more comprehensive than the lite. Amazing mod though, never going to play RE7 without it again and it's a perfect compliment to my favorite RE.
So essentially if you have less than 16gb of VRAM get the lite version. Unless you play at 1440p or lower. You could maybe get away with the full version as long as you have 10gb and play at 1080p. Anything more and you will need to downgrade to lite or you'll run into huge stutters.
Hi, The textures only works for a few seconds (maybe 15-20s) and then they are replaced by the original low rez textures (the game doesn't crash though). I tried with the full pack and the lite version, and the problem is the same. I'm using a RTX 3080 Ti (12GB of VRAM) and the last update of RE7 (so it must be the ray traced version) in addition to the Praydog VR mod. Is there a cache or something I should empty so I can make the upscaled textures stay ?
I've seen this bug report from several people. I tried troubleshooting this but I'm having trouble with consistently reproducing the problem on my 3070, and I'm unclear if the problem lies in my texture mod, Praydog's VR mod, or the Ray Tracing update itself?
Does the problem go away for you if you switch to the DX11 version?
You probably discovered this yourself but the answer to that is no. You're gonna need more than 12gb if you want to use the full version with RT enabled above 16:9 1440p.
Okay firstly these look great and a definite improvement, thank you so much for putting this together (many kudos) All I want to add is that VRAM usage is no joke. I'm running at 4080 with 16gb VRAM and its constantly pinned at 15+gb in game (at 4k I'll clarify). This leads to big stutters when entering a new area or crossing invisible loading points, which IMO ain't worth it (hence gonna stick with LITE). Judging from the previous comments on 4090's seeing 20gb of usage, so anyone else reading this BE WARNED. Not a complaint at all of course (i mean we're modding ffs comes with the territory) I just maybe suggest maybe clarify the expected VRAM usage on the description? At the time of writing there's only like 5 GPU's with 20GB or more (4090, 3090/ti, 7900XT/XTX?). With all that said again thank you for taking the time to make these.
EDIT: with more testing a 4k native (+ray tracing) I've found -
around 10GB VRAM usage when vanilla
around 14GB VRAM usage with the LITE texture pack
around 20GB VRAM usage with the FULL texture pack *this is based on previous comments not my findings*
Thanks for this you legend. I have a 4080Super and was curious about if I'd be okay with the full version. I ended up going with the Lite version since I really don't want any stutters or hitches at 4k ultrawide.
Actually this mod is not directly necessary, unlike the same mod for RE2 Remake. Textures are really improved, but since it's an upscale, you can see that it still looks so bad, the most important thing is that the flyers with missing people, but the author left them as they were, although in RE2 Remake he replaced that too. Anyway a good mod, but I thought it would make more sense at first
The instillation instructions don't work. I followed them exactly, and the fluffy mod manager keeps saying 'failed to move mod to directory." Then it deleted the file from my computer after I spent three hours downloading, so I can't even troubleshoot or manual install.
Edit: Okay so apparently if you download the mod files from Nexus it will not work. Using the google drive works with the instillation instructions. I didn't go this route originally because it seemed sus since I always source mods directly from Nexus. As long as you don't have a problem with no virus scan due to the file size, downloading from the google drive and following the instructions will work. Downloading from the drive also only took about 8 minutes for the whole 22GB as compared to the two files on Nexus taking about three hours (no Nexus subscription) Also, when the mod manager is installing the files, it will likely freeze at 1499/1500 files installed and say the mod manager is not responding. Just give it a minute and it will eventually work.
hey man, 9 days left download, impossible to download, download fails at certain point to anyone, many are requesting this since the beginning, why you don't make a torrent?

something's def up with the full version, i'm on a 7900 xtx with 24gb of ram and it still stutters like hell
EDIT: had to re enable upscaling, for some reason it was disabled, even tho it showed enabledThe textures only works for a few seconds (maybe 15-20s) and then they are replaced by the original low rez textures (the game doesn't crash though).
