I'm trying to mod this game with this, but it so hard just to find the correct files to modified, there's a total of 441083 files from the root.rdb, and the Log files barely narrowing it down once you're in game to pick out the outfits or other things. I wish there's easier method to find the textures and meshes like 3dmigoto where you can isolate things and grab it while in-game. Or a simple marker utility when in game so it appear more clearly in the log files.
We should create a modding comunity for this game so we could share insights and tools, the RotR Discord server didnt let us create a modding channel, sadly...

I absolutely agree that's how we got so many cool FF16 mods, someone who is expert on this field or a group could create the server where we could put all our thoughts, insights and creativity.
if everybody pitched in to get a 3d migoto made from the personthat did it for nioh 2 but for rise of the ronin like nioh 2 that would be worth it on so many levels id throw money at it myself
Well I've just done a GPT command Prompt and it seems it can read gt1 files, analyse and extract DDS images and run colour matches. With the right prompt you may well be able to narrow down the numbers and identify specific textures. I will be attempting this over the weekend and will revert back with results.
welp I guess that's it, there is a korean modder that's making combat mods tho but for the most part I think this engine indeed to hard to mod like a lot of people expected, I just wish we had open world co-op with allies or your blade twin as an ally with all the fighitng styles and outfite like the first mission of midnight
I don't think so. I think it was much easier to mod Nioh 2 as the engine was different, that's why we got lots of mods for that game but none at all for Wolong (and probably gonna be the same for this game which uses the same engine as Wolong)
Pretty sure this game needs the mod loader before mods can be loaded into the game. It's not a mod organizer, more like an asset injector. Without a tool like this, we would never get much (if anything) in the way of mods that use custom assets. This opens the door for mod authors.
yea that makes sense, i'm not a modder but i'm familiar with game files and these ones i never seen before. they're all numbered with no names lol. i wish it was simple like GTA games where an amateur can so light editing of files.
It is possible that tools may be developed and refined to a point where they become accessible for the slightly less technically gifted. This is a critical step, and a very promising start. The game has only been out on PC for 10 days after all.
