How do I actually install this? I've unzipped it as instructed and have: C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Local\Feral Interactive\Total War ROME REMASTERED\Mods\Local Mods\Rome Expanded-6-5-3-1733049970\RE
In that dir I have four files, but none of them is an installer or .exe Starting my normal Rome shows no difference
I'm not sure! I never played the DEI mod, so I couldn't say.
This mod is focused on recreating the vanilla experience with a focus on historical accuracy, then user experience/challenge, then game balance.
The proudest part of my contribution has been to the campaign and battle AI. It's well regarded in the Total War community and other mods have started using it in their games. Hope you enjoy Rome Expanded! :)
Hi, how do you trigger the marian reforms in this mod? I have Narnia up to a max-level city and I am still recruiting triarii. Thanks, the mod is awesome so far!
Marian reform requires 5 cities owned by Romans to be HUGE CITY size. Either 3 in Italy and 2 outside of Italy, or 5 outside of Italy. Otherwise it happens in 86 BCE.
Hey samito. Marian reform requires 5 cities owned by Romans to be HUGE CITY size. Either 3 in Italy and 2 outside of Italy, or 5 outside of Italy. Otherwise it happens in 86 BCE.
My game crashes to desktop when loading the battlemap. I can play on the battlemap with some factions, like Epirus and Sparta but when it comes to a faction such as Pergamon or Rhodes - it just crashes.
I know the game files well but I am stumped.
Any ideas what could be wrong?
ps, where can I find an error log file, if there is one?
I am very curious about this. What i am even more curious is what is the difference? I see you point to another mod , does that mean this is built on that mod? or it diverges into something else and what? Could u please elaborate more? Thanks -Edit found something on reddit, is that it? If it is , that clarifies things much more. Why not put that in description ? :) Rome Retrofit Expanded (For Rome TW Remastered) https://www.nexusmods.com/rometotalwar/mods/6
Civil wars for every faction (added in from BI)
Loyalty functionality (added in from BI)
2 new cultures (Balkan and Italic), 16 religions, 30 new regions, 185+ factions
New legions, Expanded Senate, New Missions Queue
New and Improved Campaign AI and Battle AI (50 new CAI personalities, 5 new BAI personalities - Default/Roman/Greek/Barbarian/Scythian)
More historically accurate map, characters (ex: Cornelii, Valerii, Fabii, Claudii patrician houses lead factions instead of Julii, Brutii, and Scipii), faction relationships (ex: Athens's and Sparta's rivalry), and much more
Sorry I'm just getting to this question just now. I tried to keep Rome's base vanilla features with much more factions, much more regions, and historical accuracy all around. Rome Expanded was originally based off Rome Retrofit, was started by boicote, who gave up working on the mod back in January due to frustration with technical difficulties (that I also experienced in April/May - thus my hiatus).
Rome Expanded is, at this point, very different from Rome Retrofit in style and substance.
The original Rome factions were historically anachronistic. The use of Cornelii, Valerii, Fabii, Claudii, and other patricians is more representative of fact. Most of the characters at game start were real historical figures living during 270BC.
Thanks for the response and your mod. Although i gave up on game after complete failure to fix mouse and keyboard freezes. Have big backlog of games , maybe one day ill be back to try again.

What difficulty would you recommend/was this mod balanced around?

P.S
Would it be too much to ask for original Rome faction names back? Julii, Brutii, Scripii?
-Edit2 ok this guy actually did best rundown of the mod.
