A mod for those seeking a playthrough with more variety in combat options, while maintaining vanilla-like difficulty.

This mod requires starting a new save game after installation to work properly; playing on a vanilla save could irreversibly alter your existing game.
That said, starting a new game on an existing save file is perfectly fine.


Notable Changes


Reworked Spirit Emblem system:
- Spirit Emblems will refill in unlimited quantity when resting at a Sculptor's Idol, and are no longer purchasable.
- Attack enemies to generate Spirit Emblems for use in skills and Prosthetic Tools.
- All normal attacks, offensive Martial Arts and (with some exceptions) non-Emblem consuming skills can restore Spirit Emblems.
- Base and ceiling Spirit Emblem capacity has been altered, as have the Emblem cost of items, skills and Prosthetic Tools.


Rebalanced items, skills and Prosthetic Tools:
- Changes are reflected within in-game descriptions.

Reduced menu item redundancy:
- Direct upgrades of skills and Prosthetic Tools will replace the obsolete version entirely.
- Distinctions between upgrades and variants are reflected in the upgrade trees' descriptions.

Altered enemy stats and placement:
- Mainly affects non-boss enemies; changes were made to accommodate the new environment for skill and Prosthetic Tool use.
- Changes were made to both base stats and specific attack properties.
- Standardized enemy piercing damage (or 'dark damage') resistance.

Slightly altered upgrade trees:
- The placement of certain skills have been changed.
- The total number of Skill Points required to possess all skills has been lowered. (125 -> 100)
- Materials required for late-game Prosthetic Tool upgrades have been slightly reduced.

Altered Lightning Reversal mechanic:
- Lightning strikes now deal a larger proportion of total lightning damage; 'Shock' status damage has been reduced.
- Deflecting a lightning strike before a Lightning Reversal nullifies its damage, while guarding reduces damage taken.




To install this mod, place all provided folders into your Mod Engine mods (or mod override) folder.
