All credit goes to pappsy314 as this is his mod. If pappsy314 wants me to remove this link I will agree.
I have a fix available for this mod as well as some options on how you can use it. I used this mod as a learning tool as a matter of fact. Feel free to grab it off my Google Drive if you like.
All good... there is a .txt I included in the .rar that can answer all your questions on placement and such. No, you need to pick one set based on your preference.
Also, /parts folder will be where mods that replace Wolf's outfit and/or sword goes.
I did exactly what you told me to do It didn't work. I even extracted it in a gameparam folder. Still it didn't work. The gameparam folder i have has another file with the same name. I did all sorts of things but still it ain't working :(
I am assuming you have Sekiro Mod Engine. You should have a \mods folder in \Sekiro folder. If it isn't there make that folder. There also should be a dinput8.dll and a modengine.ini file in \Sekiro. Make sure you have this written in that .ini so it is looking in the \mods folder....
; The directory from which to load a mod. modOverrideDirectory="\mods"
So once all that is confirmed... when you pick one of the Sets in the .rar. It should be placed in...
You can only have one of those files. A lot of mods such as this one modify that file. The only way you can use mods with the same file is more complicated. You have to merge the individual .params files from the multiple mods into one "gameparam.parambnd.dcx".
I'll keep offering help if you need it. I promise you it is working. I would not have uploaded it otherwise.
Few other things this is for Sekiro 1.06 ... I would suggest testing on a new game save. I can't say 100% that it is going to work on a game in progress. Although, all my testing was on a save with some progression. Since any Set you pick is going to have an "infinite". Say you pick...
Set 4 - Infinite - Combat Arts / Normal - Ninjutsu / Infinite - Prosthetic
When you look at Combat Arts or Prosthetics in the menu you will see no Spirit Emblem cost for the skills. A white line I think it shows. Or you would only see a cost for the Ninjutsu only. Then you know the mod is working.
I see i get exactly what you mean...I've seen those images above But the problem is the 'merging' part. You see, i have the 'remov all skills and upgrade materials requirements' mod too.So this gameparam.parambnd.dcx and the other one. Is conflicting and i guess that's the main reason it's not working....yeah i have the mod engine and a few cosmetics mods installed to...everything's working except this. Not saying that your mods don't work. But there's something i ain't doing right.
Yeah if you have two mods that are using "gameparam.parambnd.dcx". You either have to pick one or merge them. You can only merge them if they don't edit the same .params within the "gameparam.parambnd.dcx". Just try my mod alone and see if it's working.
Yeah it's a tricky process and there is not a lot of info out there or that is easy to follow. I spent hours and a lot of trial and error learning. Glad you figured it out :)
Okay i deleted the previous mods and just installed this and it works perfectly fine. (To everyone saying it doesn't work with v1.06) I can confirm . IT WORKS WITH V 1.06. Huge thanks to @kentfade
i just downloaded your easy mod you are a hard worker man thank you and can you name it anything else cause i have your other mode (easy mode) and i cant put both of them cause its the same name when I add their names (1) they not working
Thanks for the compliment. They are not my mods I just fixed them. The file "gameparam.parambnd.dcx" can't be renamed. Only one can be used. A lot of Sekiro mods use this same file. Depending on what the mods are some can be merged and some can't. In the case of the...
Difficulty Adjustment Damage Control and No Spirit Emblem Cost these two mods can be merged together as they change different things.
Here is what I will do. Since the Difficulty mod has four variations including the default. I will edit that mod to include option sets to include No Spirit emblems. It will be posted on the Difficulty mod page in my original post. I will let you know when I have it ready to download.
Can you give more details than what you wrote on how to edit this ourselves so we can merge it with other mods? I'm trying to merge this with Elden Arts.
Okay, I found the txt file, that should help, but I still need to know where to edit to get the New Game Start With Mortal Blade. The author posted two params where they edited, but didn't go into detail of what row and name it was. They said it was at...
I don't use either one of those mods. So I don't know what is changed in them. I do see that they both use the "gameparam.parambnd.dcx". So yes if you want them all the work together you will have to merge them. I use Yapped and Yapper when it comes to editing/looking at the "gameparam.parambnd.dcx". You will need to find out from those authors what "params" they changed within this file. Once you know that then you can compare it against the info I provided in my mod edit here.
The author of New Game Start With Mortal Blade posted params in the comments. As for the Elden Arts there are like 200 pages of comments, you may just have to dig through it.
Make two folders on the desktop... call one No Spirit and the other Mortal Blade. Put their respective "gameparam.parambnd.dcx" in each folder. Drag each file to the Yapper.exe or shortcut. You will have a folder now in each folder I had you make. Go into the Mortal Blade created param folder. Find ActionUnlockParam and EquipParamProtector. Drag those into the No Spirit created param folder. Replace files. Now drag the No Spirit created param folder "gameparam-parambnd-dcx" back onto the Yapper.exe or shortcut. It will create a new "gameparam-parambnd-dcx" file and backup your original. Take the new one and drop it into mods/params/GameParam folder in Sekiro. Run the game and see what happens.
Okay, great, thanks. Now I just need a way to merge the Mortal Deathblow and Run while Sheathed mod with Elden Arts. They both use the same c0000.anibnd.dcx file. Meanwhile, Sheath Mod modifies item description and sound, while the param is mergable, but people aren't sure what exact params where edited since the author stop responding - I'm going to test it.
so after like aaages of trying i got it to work with the "arts of combat" mod and it all works but im having problems which i dont think have anything to do with the other mods, the problems are not being able to access gauntlet or reflections of strength , my character also goes invisible when wearing a different outfit, i see that other people have similar problems, anyway around this?
All I can do is really tell you what was already stated. The "No Spirit Emblem Cost" mod is configured for use with Sekiro v1.06. Wolf Skins, Gauntlet Of Strength, and Reflections Of Strength work correctly with just this mod active. I have not experienced Sekiro being invisible.
If you took the "Arts of Combat" mod you mention and then mixed "No Spirit Emblem Cost" mod into it. That mod may not be using a v1.06 file as its base. If that is the case and that mod is using say v1.05 file, then you would have the issues you are. Try it the other way around by starting with the "No Spirit Emblem Cost" mod as the base file and mixing the "Arts of Combat" into it. Then you will know for sure that you are using a v1.06 edited file.
I hope that makes sense. I am not familiar with the "Arts of Combat" mod to know what it changes. In regards to the "Wolf Skins, Gauntlet Of Strength, and Reflections Of Strength". I've fixed multiple mods that were simply using an outdated "gameparam.parambnd.dcx". That file is what a large portion of Sekiro mods edit.
how about this mod ONE HIT DEATH AND STURDY ENEMY (https://www.nexusmods.com/sekiro/mods/151) i think adjusting studiness of enemy suit this NO SPIRIT EMBLEM MOD...having infinite emblems while fighting sturdy enemies with be fun to play
Hi, could I please get the param list for this mod, I want to know what rows and columns I need to change. I'm trying to combine this with the param file from the Elden arts mod.
Thank you in Advance!!!
Edit: Nevermind I just went through the notepad file you uploaded, Thank you!
@kentfade i downloaded the mod and then i extracted in sekiro game folder in mods>param>GameParam>mode file than i copy the path address and paste in modengine.ini file in modOverrideDirectory="\mods" then save the file and restart the game. the modengine is working cause its skipping the Intro but the No Spirit Emblem Mod is not working im using Ver.1.06 of game, mod, modengine
If the Weapon Wheel mod alters the "gameparam.parambnd.dcx". You will have to merge the two mods together. That is if they don't replace individual .params both mods share. If the Wheel Mod alters or adds a .dll then it shouldn't matter but I can't be 100% sure. I don't use that mod and it was not considered when updating this mod.
In general, I realized my mistake and what I missed while reading your instructions. The mod works perfectly, thank you for such a wonderful mod and for trying to help. I really appreciate it.
To answer your question. Any weapon/outfit mod will not mess up a mod using "gameparam.parambnd.dcx". Different files being altered as well as different folders for their locations.
Param Edits: mods/param/GameParam/
Weapons/Outfits: mods/parts/
Edit... Just to throw it out there. I've never had to start a fresh game/save for any Sekiro mod to work. But that may be needed in some rare situations.
EDIT: Wait! I just saw your other post about file location and that fixed my problem! I created a new folder to name it param then another new folder within param GameParam and placed the files inside. This fixed my issue. Thank you much! This will be fun.
Hello! I just started using mods and Sekiro is pretty fun so far. I have a functioning mod folder under steamapps -> common -> sekiro -> mods -> parts. I can't get any of the spirit emblem mods to work including yours. I am taking Set 1 -> then copying gameparam.parambnd.dcx to paste into my 'parts' folder just like all my other mods. It is the only mod that is not working. Is there anything I'm missing? I have also tried removing all other mods.
hello! about your post on how to merge with Yabber, the same is happening to me, but it's just the folder that's different, I have the resurrection mod, and there's a folder named "chr" and I have another folder called the same (it's from black mortal blade effects) I just have to merge the contents inside which is just the "c0000.anibnd.dcx", I don't know what part affects what, I just need help identifying it to merge, thank you!
That was an incredible post!! You explained it so well. How can I say THANK YOU!!! You did an incredible service to help us. That took patience of a saint. Thank you so much!!!!
You're welcome man, thanks for the comment. Yeah, I spent so many hours figuring it all out, testing and then documenting it. Half patience and the other half OCD. :)
I'm glad people are still figuring out how to use it.
I can't get this to work. I've followed everything you said and my emblems have stayed the same. What am I doing wrong? I'm not sure if it's been patched or not because all of my other mods seem to working perfectly but this is the ONLY one that doesn't work.
You are the BEST!! I know I'm late to the party, but I already had a mod editing the .dcx file so the info you added to your readme was Invaluable!!! I was able to mod it myself using DSMapStudio.
If anyone else is using DSMapStudio and wants to edit their own gameparam.parambnd.dcx file so that no spirit emblems are used, do the following:
Download UXM and extract Sekiro's files to its install folder (does so automatically). Open DSMapStudio -> File -> New Project -> Name it anything you want, point the Project Directory to your mod folder in your main Sekiro folder (if not there, create it), choose Sekiro's exe as the Game Excutable, check Import row names, then 'Create.' Select Param Editor at the top, scroll down to EquipParamGoods and EquipParamWeapon. Follow @kentfade's instructions in his readme to locate which exact rows are edited. Instead of 'fpConsume' or 'Unk83,' DSMapStudio (with the import row names feature checked) names them 'consumeResourceItemA' for Ninjitsu and 'resourceItemA' for the other two. Make all of them "0" and finally File-> Save All and you're done!
Hey bro can i use this mod as a standalone like without the mod engine cause i wanna play the gauntlets , reflection but not be bounded by spirit emblems cost. Thanks in advance.
Hey, is this mod compatible with no emblem cost? because i have both the elden arts and the no emblem cost mod in the mod folder but for some reason the no emblem cost is not working
hey, happy new year! if you have installed this mod. you have no acces to the Gauntlet of Strange. if you complete the game and you wanna run it for the Shura outfit for Example it will not showing up at the buddah bonfire. is there anyway to get this working?

Sekiro v1.06 - No Spirit Emblem - Fix
Thank you so much
You're welcome, glad it's working for you.

So once all that is confirmed... when you pick one of the Sets in the .rar. It should be placed in...

You will need Yabbed to edit the .params
I used both of these tools to update this mod. That will get you going in the right direction to merge.
Anyway
Thank your for the mod and prompt replies my G.
(To everyone saying it doesn't work with v1.06)
I can confirm . IT WORKS WITH V 1.06.
Huge thanks to @kentfade
I am pretty sure I didn't include that in my update. The reason is I couldn't determine what part of the param to adjust for them.
I edited these areas....
EquipParamGoods - Ninjutsu
EquipParamWeapon - Combat Arts
EquipParamWeapon - Prosthetics
I am guessing Spiritfalls are in "EquipParamGoods" somewhere.
The SpiritFalls are in the 'EquipParamGoods' param from 'Row' 3350 to 3390, need only to change the fpConsume.
and can you name it anything else cause i have your other mode (easy mode)
and i cant put both of them cause its the same name when I add their names (1) they not working
Thanks for the compliment. They are not my mods I just fixed them.
The file "gameparam.parambnd.dcx" can't be renamed. Only one can be used.
A lot of Sekiro mods use this same file.
Depending on what the mods are some can be merged and some can't. In the case of the...
Difficulty Adjustment Damage Control and No Spirit Emblem Cost
these two mods can be merged together as they change different things.

It will be posted on the Difficulty mod page in my original post.
I will let you know when I have it ready to download.
If you have downloaded this mod before 5/13/22. Please re-download it from my original post as I have updated documentation.
Thanks
It's ready to download now on the other mods' comments.
Thanks for the thanks. :)
I am assuming you read my .txt I included with the mod.
You'll need to be more specific in what you need help with.
ActionUnlockParam
EquipParamProtector
The author of New Game Start With Mortal Blade posted params in the comments.
As for the Elden Arts there are like 200 pages of comments, you may just have to dig through it.
EquipParamGoods
EquipParamWeapon
New Game Start With Mortal Blade mod edits...
ActionUnlockParam
EquipParamProtector
So all you need to do is merge them into the same "gameparam.parambnd.dcx".
Find ActionUnlockParam
and EquipParamProtector.
For the rest, any advice on them?
That I don't know. I play on 1.06 and made it for and with 1.06.
If you test it out on 1.05 let me know if it works for you.

That mod is using a dinput8.dll to apply its adjustments. I don't know how to edit a .dll. Maybe try messaging the modder directly.
I'm trying to combine this with the param file from the Elden arts mod.
Thank you in Advance!!!
Edit: Nevermind I just went through the notepad file you uploaded, Thank you!
Grab the .rar from my GoogleDrive link in the comments above. It is a working version for 1.06
Please see the ReadMe included with my .rar
Please read the "Please Read For Set Descriptions.txt" with the mod. You are putting the mod in the wrong place.
i downloaded the mod and then i extracted in sekiro game folder in mods>param>GameParam>mode file
than i copy the path address and paste in modengine.ini file in modOverrideDirectory="\mods" then save the file and restart the game.
the modengine is working cause its skipping the Intro but the No Spirit Emblem Mod is not working im using Ver.1.06 of game, mod, modengine

Yeah, I spent so many hours figuring it all out, testing and then documenting it.
Half patience and the other half OCD. :)

It does work, you just don't know what you are doing.
I provided all the information that was needed to figure it out.
