This game does not support symlinks when loading pak with .ucas and .utoc files, so symlinks have been disabled. You must have the mod staging folder and the game on the same drive to use this extension.
For technical reasons, config and save files cannot be installed directly in Vortex. However, you can easily access the config and save folders using the buttons in the Mods toolbar.
I downloaded this using Vortex but the file won't unpack or install. If I manually install it then where do I put it? I'm relatively new to modding. Thanks in advance.
I didn't have it in my list of supported games (managed or unmanaged); I manually downloaded the file, opened the extensions tab, then manually dragged the zip into the 'drag files here' box on the extensions tab and it loaded in the avowed extension after a restart.
I'm not sure if there is a setting somewhere for games support that isn't updating my list when things are pushed out as I remember seeing something a few weeks ago for Avowed being added a supported game. Maybe I'm old, but there are times I miss the drop down menus that mobile phone app layouts on programs have shifted to.
They cannot be installed directly since symlinks are not supported. This is because of the way pak mods work. If I enabled installers for config and save files, only users with the game on their C drive would be able to use the extension at all.
However, you can easily access the config folder using the folder icon button in the toolbar and selecting "Open Config Folder".
Hi there, have Avowed PC Gamepass version but getting "Archive not recognized as a vortex extension" message when attempting to install , what have i missed? Thanks!
You can change it in Settings -> Mods. The deploy error message also leads here. There you can pick a folder on the same drive as the game for mod staging
Note that this requirement is identical to Bethesda games like Skyrim and Fallout

The way you installed, you will not receive automatic extension updates.
Edit: Choosing the wrong folder then directed me to choose the folder than contains Alabama (which is Avowed/Content).
However, you can easily access the config folder using the folder icon button in the toolbar and selecting "Open Config Folder".
Thanks!
