I'm not planning on updating this mod, I leave you the instructions of what I did, so you can edit all your mesh files at will.
I just edited one item with NifSkope: Click on the mesh, then follow the path NiTriShape -> NiTriShapeData -> BSLightingShaderProperty And edit "Lighting Effect 1" to 0.600000 (in the "broken" meshes this value was 10.000000 or 5.000000 to much!) Save the file and you are done!
Other "working Ok" vanilla meshes have this value set to 0.300000, but this value too dark for the "broken" meshes, 0.600000 is the perfect balance between under shadows and under direct sunlight effect.
Extract them from \meshes\landscape\plants\ using BAE, then edit them according to the guide in the pinned comment. I haven't personally checked to see if they all need this fix per-se, but I'd imagine so, and at least some (e.g., the deadshrubs) definitely do.

Good information. I had no idea it was so clean of a fix. (After years of ignoring luminous grass everywhere, from every mod...) Wonder if this could be automated with TES5Edit...
I've tinkered around in nifskope with some of these meshes myself. Never knew that soft lighting effect set to 10 did the bright in shadows thing. I guess Bethesda wanted them to really pop since they're harvestable. Or it was a mistake by somebody and they just kept copying it down the line?
How does this work with custom models installed? I don't understand that. Did you simply apply the same changes to the models from other mods for that?

Hope this helps.
New version 1.3 uploaded, includes ReachShrub02.nif and the Juniper Trees that SMIM doesn't touch.
I thinks this is the reason, mostly for console players (easier to spot at the TV).
Because I see the same problem with plants and grass too : too brighted in the shadows.
BUT here it is the SE version:

Are they compatible? Do I overwrite his meshes with yours or your meshes with his?
You can overwrite his meshes with mine, no problem.
