- RANDOMIZER version added, it requires Dynamic Animation Replacer - DAR. (Kudos to Mur4s4me for the idea) Now the game will randomly choose between 05 animations, the classical vanilla plus the four new ones, for all the NPCs and the player too.
- Version 1.2: Chances for the Randomizer version updated. Many thanks to Felisky384 for posting me the instructions, and to Cim for the bug reporting. Ver 1.3 - Fixed one error with the Randomizer package.
I installed DAR, which is just one file, can't do it wrong...I have SKSE 1.7.3 as required Then I installed the player animations with FOMOD installer, they automatically go in the correct DAR folder
So why it doesn't work...my dragonborn keeps sitting in the same vanilla way of always, bent forward on a knee...
I have Poser Hotkeys Plus and Pretty Motion Collection which includes the special jarlchair.hxk too
Idk why but although that hxk file is in its own folder it appears the game prioritizes that over DAR folders so I can change the sitting animation only changing the hxk file of the PM misc folder, DAR doesn't apply (still need to run FNIS apparently)
Well this is weird. I completely uninstalled the sitting animation 01 (via MO2), installed the sitting animation 03, ran FNIS, and I still end up with the sitting animation 01. Any suggestions, anyone?
Did you test the new random version (1.1)? I don't know what Felisky384's instructions were, but the random values seem very wrong to me. I think they will result in the vanilla animation showing most of the time. See also my answer to your post in the forum of Dynamic Animation Replacer
EDIT Tested it and the values are indeed wrong. To fix it:
folder 7201 -> remove (this folder contains the vanilla animation, which is not needed since DAR will fall back to the vanilla animation automatically) folder 7202 -> change condition to Random(0.5) folder 7203 -> change condition to Random(0.3333) folder 7204 -> change condition to Random(0.25) folder 7205 -> change condition to Random(0.2)
now every animation (including vanilla) has a 1/5 chance of appearing ingame
Yes, you are right. I just updated a new fixed version of the Randomizer (v1.2). I screw it up when I did the math, the instructions sent by Felisky384 were fine. And thanks for the heads-up. People like you is why this community is so awesome.
"GREAT community" … Absolutely agree, to sit and fix an "error" on a holiday that you make voluntarily for players you don't even know for their gaming pleasure , that is what makes this a GREAT COMMUNITY! So from a player … Thanks!!! {And I'm using several versions of Sarah :) !!}
I'm reviving this post, because I checked the files in 1.3 randomizer (because I sometimes just do stuff like that ), and there is a typo in the conditions for 7202, where you have Random(0.034) instead of Random(0.3333). There's a rogue 0 in there, making your aimed 33% for this stage only 3%
Has anyone tested the random animation version? I can't for the life of me seem to get it to work. I've got plenty of other DAR mods and this looks to be set up as I'd have expected (though I'd think the higher-numbered animations would override the lower so not sure the odds are entirely even) but what seems to actually occur is that one animation gets 'stuck' and everyone uses it, regardless of sitting, getting up, leaving the cell and re-entering it... Now, granted I am testing by spawning the Solutide throne near me and having my character sit down/stand up and also having a follower do the same - but I also went in and out of Dragonsreach with Balgruuf sitting and he always used the same animation no matter how many times I left the cell and re-entered.
Hmm, even though we're using DAR still need to run FNIS? I thought you wouldn't have to for this. I even tested in Dragonsreach on that particular throne once JB got his butt off to bed (not sure if that's important) and still, the same thing, everyone uses the same pose every time. I guess I can run FNIS but I've not had to do that for any other DAR mods that I can think of.
It is not needed. But something like that happened once time with me, with other DAR animations, and I fixed by running FNIS. I believe I removed or edited other animations, not related to DAR, but forgot to update FNIS, so ALL the things related to animations were, in some way, broken. Just try it, it won't hurt anything.
EDIT: I just uploaded a new version of Randomizer to v1.3, following the tips that Felisky384 posted me, and the instructions from Cim. Please try it.
@spaven Just a note that you should NOT try with the Solitude throne. That furniture uses the regular sit animation, not the "Jarl sitting animation." Any of the other Jarl chairs work fine of course; it's just the Solitude one (most likely intended by Bethesda, so Elisif doesn't sit that way).
Thanks for the tip regarding the Solitude throne. I did install 1.3 and did some tests with the PC on the Dragonsreach throne, still getting the same animation every time. I haven't run FNIS yet (still testing some other stuff) but again, not sure why I'd need to here. Since this _should_ be working,, I guess I need to dig further into my particular setup to try and somehow figure out why it's not working for me. Thanks for all the help though - if I do get it figured out I'll report back. Also - any tips on what to check are appreciated :)
This is really odd! Sorry to hear you still can't get it to work. Have you tried to remove all other DAR animation folders and keep only this animation? Do you happen to have other DAR animations that have the same folder numbers as these?
I know that male pc's are considered as a useless appendage here, but maybe, just one picture for them at least. It makes me ask the question that did as much effort go into them as was given to showing them.
All of these animations work fine for male NPCs, especially since it was designed to be used by Arch curate Vyrthur. Also, the 2nd image in this very mod has a male Khajiit doing Animation 02.
That said, here's another example of Animation 04 with Inigo: https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/1704/images/37801/37801-1593449899-450608281.jpeg

And it will randomize between them.

Truly great mod by the way
The wrong RAR file was uploaded, now the Randomizer is truly fixed (v1.4).
Here is working as intended.
About the odds I asked directly to Felisky384 is they are all right, as soon I get the answer I'll update the Randomize module if necessary.
I believe I removed or edited other animations, not related to DAR, but forgot to update FNIS, so ALL the things related to animations were, in some way, broken.
