   I'm not a modder, so please forgive a noob question.  Is there any way to slightly redo this mod to get rid of the .esp file.  Most of the retextures/remeshes that I've seen don't need a .esp file (for whatever reason).  Having a .esp file means not using your great mod, because I go over 255 total mods.  8-(

      I might be wrong but I believe the .esp is required in order to apply unique textures and meshes to these weapons.

      Unfortunately, this is not possible in this case. User dze349 has already answered your question. If you make a mod without esp, then the textures for the usual ancient Nordic sword and axe will also be replaced. This will happen for the reason that the ancient Nordic weapons have the same model as the ceremonial weapons. Therefore, you can't do without esp here.

      I think that the solution to your problem will be a program for combining mods. If you combine this mod with any other esp, then you can get rid of the extra esp and the mod will work.
