I downloaded version 1.11b - I see there are a lot of fixes, thank you. But the spell to summon Lurker does not work, I do not have Magic Resistance or Absorption, first I played as a Dunmer (he has fire resistance as a racial feature), then I started a new game as an Imperial and everything is the same - the spell does not work.
So finally found a decent home to fill that corner and sits nice and comfy next to Thousand Foot Fall without conflict. The home is very nice, though never been a fan of having heavy smoke producing things inside the home like forges and smelters, but, but these ones have ventilation, so I will give it a pass and not feel I have to remove them, hopefully those vents never get clogged. No vent for the firepits but some things unfortunately I have to ignore since Skyrim homes are all full of fires as heat and light sources and ain't nobody in Skyrim ever died from excess smoke inhalation anyway. But I love how the place is set up. I do see one issue though, in the room with the low beds and firepit, the balcony area above, missing a corner and has no support post which with the firepit directly below wouldn't be able to have it anyway, as such I'm going to remove the firepit and find something to keep that balcony from falling on anyone, otherwise everything else looks fine and seems I have me another home to make Solitude feel as if more people live here without having a major city overhaul.
Thanks for downloading, and taking the time to comment!
The original version did actually have a proper fireplace with chimney (which is what that balcony leaned on). However, the sheer size of the thing, and the way it stretched towards the ceiling, felt a bit cramped, and darkened rather than brightened the den with its heavy stonework. I do see your point, and sympathize dearly. But one mustn't get reality get in the way of a cozy fantasy house, IMO :D
Ah, I see, understandable. Yeah, there's a lot of dilemma when creating and how to fit and organize it all, and Skyrim only has limited amounted of pieces to work with so we do the best we can and the rest we just have to pretend, after all it is just a game. But again, nice house, perfect spot and fit for it, to fill my Solitude a bit more. Much thanks for sharing, for every house I find and like gives me more inspiration for creativity.
Nice mod for the house. Will there be updates, for example more decorations inside? There are not enough spread carpets (although I saw a few twisted ones), as well as decorations on the walls.
There are several problems: - pentagram of souls on the 2nd floor of the house in the wall textures, move it a little from the corner. - invisible mannequins in the temple - clothes when moved to the mannequin's inventory are of course not displayed. - stands for Black Books in the library do not work, maybe you can remake them for each individual book? - the spell to summon Lurker does not work - I can select it, but when I try to activate it, nothing happens.
Glad someone actually found the temple! I hope it wasn't too obvious.
The invisible mannequins I'm not certain about. For me they always 'got fixed' by simply reloading the save. I'll double check them though! Lurker spell and Black book stands worked on my save... ? I'll retest them to be sure though.
As for the actual house - any suggestions besides "more carpets"? I welcome all input! (thanks for commenting, btw)
The Lurker spell suffered from a problem of base Skyrim - that I wasn't even aware of at first. If you have Magic Resistance or Absorption (chance) on your character, it will block the summoning spell :(
I've fixed this for future versions by making the spell "irresistable/non-reflectable," so it now works regardless of your character state. (I had tested that it worked before, which is why your post confused me. But I did so on a character without magic resistance. You must've had an effect like that active when you tried it!)
Fixed book displays (it worked on my computer. Maybe because I forgot to add the display script to the download, and only kept it on my own drive. Maybe some other Skyrim magic! Who knows? xD)
I'm sorry you had that experience. I would say, all the above pictures were taken in-game and do have functional lighting (as can be seen). Though I'll admit it is on the darker side. I suppose we might have (very) different brightness settings or other visual modifications? What are your settings?
Hello! I tried to use your house, and if I may, make a few small remarks or give a couple of tips. Firstly, I really liked the location of the mansion and the interior layout, but the companions do not go there and do not even climb the steps near the house and just run around it in search of ways. Secondly, there are too many stoves in the house with a bright fire, which creates an uncomfortable noise. Perhaps you should replace the type of campfire and choose a quieter one? Besides, I'm not sure I need an oven in every room. Well, the bookshelves don't work on the second floor, if you meant to make them active. I also advise you to put a quick move marker near the house. If this house is going to be improved, then I hope that all this will be fixed. Sorry for the long list, but I do vanilla houses and premises myself, and I know what I'm talking about. You can take my words into account or ignore them. In general, I wish you good luck in future projects.)
Thank you for all your suggestions! No need to apologize at all, I preciate the time you took to write it out.
I've neglected the mod for a while since - well I uploaded and nothing happened for a while, so I sort of forgot. I don't actually know why followers wouldn't be able to follow (inside), since the house had default Player_house settings - but nonetheless all your suggestions sound reasonable, and I'll look into fixing improving the mod.
W.r.t. to the 2nd story bookshelves, I'm afraid I took for granted that they should work, since I copied them from a Modder's Resource... So, shame on both of us? Any way, I'll re-do them.
Although I refuse to not have some sort of fireplace in the living room - Skyrim is cold, and I can imagine nothing cozier than getting under the blankets in front of a nice big fire - I can still understand the sound of fires being a tad much. I'll adjust volume and range, I think. Maybe do something else for a fireplace in the living room!

I found the rooms inside to be very dark, but you can see the objects.
I've seen many developers create great house mods but forget one important detail: the light inside.
Get the normal house in Solitude, and go inside and you'll see that you can see everything clearly inside, that's what I'm talking about: lights.
I suppose we might have (very) different brightness settings or other visual modifications? What are your settings?
New version with improvements and fixes to reported issues.
Hope you enjoy!
