Just spent about 2 hours digging through the Papyrus-laiden guts of the Creation Kit trying to find out how to make these stones non-quest items so I could drop them. I did not succeed
No papyrus needed - find the TG_Crown quest, open it up and look at its list of aliases. There are several versions of the stone aliases, and I can't remember which ones are important, but basically you need to open them up and untick "quest item"
I'll keep that info in mind next time I decide to fix something like this. I'm a wizard at some things in the Bethesda toolkits, but the way Papyrus works using aliases and fragments; I have no idea how any of those things work. Best to leave it to professionals like you. Thanks again
@toaDime Oops, I thought I had reported the solution already... it's because it was conflicting with the BetterQuestObjectives.esp; moving your mod after that one fixed all the problems. Thanks for the response, and great mod!
EDIT: Oh, I did on your other mod page. Not sure who to tell, but BOSS load order suggested loading yours before BetterQuestObjectives, but that breaks your mod whereas loading yours after both seem to work fine. Just throwing that out there.
"Stones of Barenziah that are droppable AND have quest markers! What more could you want?"..... "What more could you want?" - well... can we have the ability to eat them?
sweet mod, always was to dam lazy to find them all even if it was a just a google away.
Thank you for your great mods. Apologies if this has been asked & answered before but I cannot find it.
I use your original BarenziahQuestMarkers.esp but decided this droppable version would be better suited. I noticed an old comment within the original’s nexus thread (page 13 at the time of posting this) that warned if the mod is removed it will corrupt saves becasue of the scripting it uses. Will it be ok to just substitute BarenziahQuestMarkers.esp with BarenziahQuestMarkers_Droppable.esp (do they use the same scripts etc. internally?) or should I rather use both in conjunction to get the “droppable” part to work? Do you have a recommended way to substitute the non-droppable version with the droppable version without corrupting saves?
Is there any chance of a version that moves the quest locked stones to a different location so you don't have to progress through the College, DB and Main storylines just to get them?
I heard someone mention trying to move the stones yet they were having trouble moving the quest markers in this mod to match. Part of the reason why I came back to this mod to see if you had talked about it.
Basically while someone can move the stones, the quest markers don't move with them. I'd move them myself but there is that little snag.

SWEET!
One does not simply mod into Mordor.

If i remember correctly, my mod is miscategorised as "Map Markers" rather than as a quest tweak, which is what it ought to be.

(Sorry for the late reply; I was away)
There's probably already a mod like that, although obviously it's going to conflict with this one.

We can't figure out why this is.
