I know it's been a loooong time since anyone commented, but if this script is not working for you, try right clicking on the .vbs file, clicking edit, and opening in Notepad, then ctrl-fing "%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Skyrim\plugins.txt", and replacing it with the actual path to your Appdata\Local\Skyrim. Before, mine would say there's duplicate 0 Skyrim.esm's when there was 1. Then I tried that, and now it says there's 1 when there's one, and 0 when there's 0.

The issue I am having is that I get this error but I am not using NMM I am using Mod Organizer instead. I do not have a plugins.ini or plugins.txt in  my Skyrim folder at all. I just got this error for the first time when I went to Solstheim for the first time.

I just started this char last month and just hit lvl 50 please for the love of God do not tell me I am going to have to delete this char and start all over again.

I haven't had alot of spare time to work on this, and I just rebuilt my computer basically from scratch so I'm still "moving in" files and installing them with my new configuration. Until further notice, I will not be working on this plugin anymore. If anyone wants to take this project over and improve the script, feel free to so long as you give me credit wherever it may be due.

Dawnguard quests still not working. I talk to "Mysterious woman" and it freezes the dialog. She moves, but it doesn't go on to the rest and it won't let me exit. I have to hold the Power key on pc to shut down and restart. PLEASE HELP.

    Heya!
Just had a quick look at your script, to see what it does and noticed you use a hardcoded reference to create a file in "c:\windows\temp\plugins.txt".
Wouldn't it be better to use an environment variable for that so the script doesn't bork up in case of unusual install paths (also c: might not be the system hd and/or partion or actually not be a hard drive at all). Also you might want to create a backup by renaming the original, just in case anything goes wrong while writing the new plugins.txt.
    Just a thought.
Otherwise: Nice idea to make this task a little less tedious.

Hey guys, i've had the same problem too when i've installed patch 1.5 but i managed to fix it thanks to a user on Youtube that wrote a way out <img class=">

    Do this

    Open Explorer and type
    - %appdata% hit enter, or go to C:Users-yourname-AppData/Local/Skyrim
    - modify your plugin list, plugins.ini
    - delete update.esm and if there are 2 skyrim.esm, delete one.
    - So there will be one skyrim.esm and no update.esm. If there isn't a plugin.ini you must create one and paste the plugin.txt contents.
    - Save and enjoy

I don't know if it is really necessary to delete update.esm ... in my case i didn't have that inside my .ini (even if the esm was already in Data folder). I've found a twice skyrim.esm, so i deleted one and saved.

And the game worked without problems <img class=">

Sorry for bad english, hope this will help someone.
