This version is a single, stand alone plugin for the full quest version of Much Ado about Snow Elves. An update to the weapon only version will be coming very soon.
This version must be used on a game that has not used older versions of Much Ado, or be installed on a fresh character. This version cannot be used to upgrade an old Much Ado version unless you are savvy with using the save game script cleaner and successfully purge your entire save of older Much Ado scripts. This method can be risky however, so I recommend a fresh start.
Also be aware if you are a Legacy of the Dragonborn user, Much Ado is coming to an upcoming version of Legacy, so it's not advisable to install V2.0 of Much Ado for other reasons than testing, or if you intend on starting a fresh game when the Legacy update comes out.
Any questions, check the change log, or post here on the comment page. Thanks folks!
I do not recommend downloading Legacy of the Dragonborn if you bought the Anniversary Edition or bought Sunder and Wraithguard from Creation Club. Quest structures from this mod overlaps with the structures for the quest for Sunder and Wraithguard, rendering the quest for Sunder and Wraithguard incompletable without console commands (i.e. coc to the final cell) and causes difficulties for this mod's quests. This is why I am asking for permission so I can create an alternative.
I am looking to get permission to post a port of Much Ado About Snow Elves - Weapons Only on Nexus and make this mod available to SE/AE users outside of Legacy of the Dragonborn. And I would like to get permission to use it as a master file for a mod I am working on.
Yeah, the quest version is sadly buggy and unoptimized. Not only do you have to follow what you're told to do next to the letter of the law or risk breaking the quest, but there are still some bugs that can break the quest anyway (not being able to give Calcelmo the ancient Falmer staff as a glaring example). I recommend the weapons only version instead, as it works just fine.
I played this through before and it worked just fine, but now I get a CTD as I try to enter the Irkngthand Descent. Anyone know which mod might affect this?
I have a glitch that I haven't seen mentioned elsewhere: The stage after recovering the staff from the Temple of Xrib is done; I've defeated the shade, and left the area (found the lever to open the doors in the Icy chamber), returned (all) the staves to Calcemo, but the quest still lists "Escape from icy chamber" as unfulfilled. And no other interactions with Calcemo about this questline happen.......Any hints?
I know this is a bit late but maybe helps other players with the same issue. The icy chamber has to be completely explored. Every nook and cranny, if I recall rightly, go down into the holes and pick up everything, kill everything, then it should eventually update. If that doesn't work, TCL and fly up to the places you usually can't access, as a last resort.
I know this mod is missed a lot on my gameplay now that I have finally made the switch to SSE on the first of this year............... So to the rather of this mod PLEASE PORT THIE MOD TO SSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately it looks like another epoch will pass before this mod is ever updated. :frown: It's too bad because this would have made a fantastic addition to Legacy of the Dragonborn's main quest line.
Pardon the ill timed humor. I really wish this was finished one day but I just can't see that happening.
One negative about Skyrim was that it never touched fully on the Falmer and the Snow Elves. They needed something more than one simple quest especially considering they were everywhere in Skyrim, above and below. I thought the idea of a "Falmer"-ized Dragon would have been awesome, one that the Dragonborn could not tame immediately.
Anyways, loose thoughts about a long missing Gem in the Skyrim modding community.
