You set it as an armor part and add it to the race's body set, which will be under armor. You need to make sure the flags are set for the race as well. It can also be set as a head part as a MISC piece and added straight onto the head.

      Tried different approaches, all failed:

      1. I tried to edit a femalehead.nif in Nifskope 1.1.3 by copying the ear mesh 1 to it and editing the texture paths accordingly, and it shows up in Nifskope correctly, but not in the game chargen screen. What am I doing wrong?

      2. If I add the ears in the CK as an extra head part with the correspoding skinhead texture set I use for the race the ear mesh still has a different color, and the ears do not react when I use the skintone slider in the chargen screen. Like I said: Textures set in the CK and texture path in Nifskope are set correctly. What is going wrong there?

My conclusion is that additional head parts do not share face skintones and their slider settings. The only way to add these ears correctly to a headmesh is via Nifskope, which, as I described above, didn't work out in the game itself.

I would be very grateful for any kind of help. Does anybody know a GOOD and COMPREHENSIVE Nifskope tutorial that describes MERGING MESHES so that they actually work not only in Nifskope but also in the game? Most of the tutorials I found on the net apparently are for people who know so much already that they basically don't need a tutorial, which in fact renders them useless.

When you add the ears as a head part, you need to make sure they are assigned the same texture set as the head mesh (In editor). You can't add them to a mesh in NIF Scope because it will break the head's tri set.

I don't understand how to do it either. I created a new addon for the ears. Then I tried to add it to a new BodyArmor (skin), which I had set up pathed to new meshes and textures and race, but then NONE of it showed up in the character preview, ears or anything else. Do you set it to the new skin, or a new outfit?

Edit: Still can't get it work I have tried adding an armor addon to a new body armor (skin), but then the skin did not show in the preview window at all (even though everything was pathed correctly and the race was properly set). Then I tried creating a head part for the ears as a misc piece, and attached to the head, but then the CK always crashed when I tried to preview. It said there was an error with the hair, which I checked and it was all pathed correctly just as before when it had no problem. Is there supposed to be a tri file for the ears, because I only saw nifs.

Edit: Confirmed that the head part method does NOT work for me. I need more information please. I disconnected the earpart misc from the Headpart itself, and the crashing and errors both stopped. What else can I try?

Is it possible to make this into a permanent mesh replacer for the mer races' ears? Without touching face and body mods?

Hello. I am new to creating new races.
I have successfully created an Armor Addon (43 - ears with your mod's meshes) but i don't understand what to do afterwards.
    What are the following steps?

They're meant for unmorphed head mesh to cover/replace the existing ears. I can't really make them for the elf head due to it being a morph.
