"He maintains a very close proximity, frequently bumping into the Dragonborn; any attempts to stop may result in him shoving the Dragonborn, making many basic actions difficult, including boxing the Dragonborn into corners, or worse case, shoving off cliffs or narrow walkways. This can be solved by hitting Barbas with a weapon once, where he will back off and whimper."
Can be solved by hitting the dog... not the best bug fix, good thing people made mods!
This was fixed in the Unofficial Skyrim Patch, making this mod mostly obsolete. http://afkmods.iguanadons.net/index.php?/topic/3636-mods-made-obsolete-by-unofficial-patches/
It would be nice to mention it in the description.
If users still experience this issue with USKP, they should first check their load order for things that overwrite USKP's files and then apply appropriate compatibility patches.
God, I just played through this quest. I wish I'd thought of looking here first but it had been so long since I'd tried this quest I'd forgotten all about Barbas' follow distance being set way too low.
Barbas is the worst. HI LET ME SHOVE YOU INTO EVERYTHING AND IF YOU STAND STILL RIGHT OFF THINGS
I was looking for a mod exactly like this! Thank you. Unfortunately, he's still got a bad habit of laying down in the middle of walkways and not moving when I need to get past, completely blocking my path indoors. So I'm not sure if I installed it incorrectly or if the mod simply doesn't work the way I was hoping, but I've uninstalled for now. Was this issue supposed to be fixed in this mod, or is it just something you have to put up with when using Barbas as a follower?
*sigh* It would be so much easier if there were a no-follower-collision mod! I'm not even sure if that's possible, but it'd be perfect for things like this.
This is a nice idea. But come to think of it I won't use it since Barbas reminds me of my own dog who used to do exactly the same thing when he wanted something from me.. - I really miss it On the other hand, there are not too many deadly cliffs in my neighborhood...
sirenAri: Haha! Glad to hear you've found it useful You're quite welcome and I'll take Aela's 'thanks' as rendered. NOt sure how/why 128 units is the norm for 'em all. That's just way too close.
Restutitor Orbis: The other files don't really need updating unless people want the Barbas/sneak eye tweak merged with the main [SUBJECT NAME HERE] file. I do intend to make a Dragonborn supplement soon'ish, but just haven't gotten Dragonborn yet. I will get it soon as I'll have some free time available in a few weeks and be wanting to catch up on Skyrim/modding.

This is a great useful mod that won't push me off the cliffs, make me die so fast.
Barbas is one annoying dog

EDIT: please ignore this comment, I accidentally wrote this on the wrong file! Sorry Sorry!
