I use Alternate start so most of my characters end up in Whiterun so it urked me to have to travel just 4 an axe. The stores always had pickaxe's but never wood ones. Thx again 4 this.

I can find at least 3 at river wood, and ...
i do know 1 just at the side of belethor's shop where his worker cut woods. just along side the road.
couldn't miss it (well if the worker finish wood chopping, it would seems to be easily left out.)

Yeah, it's usually a pickaxe that I get way too late.
