Sorry for my recent absence everyone, I've been extremely busy over the summer and haven't had time to work on anything Skyrim related. My summer break is now comming to an end, so development will be starting up again soon! Thanks for being patient!
Everything about this house is great...it all seems to have a purpose, and it's very interactive...I did have one suggestion though...The only thing in it, that seems a bit out of place is the dining room table for 6. It would be nice if there was a smaller table to sit, eat, and watch the fire place at. Maybe then there would also be some more room for other different types of food storage in the kitchen or a space on the floor where the trap door that leads to the armory could go.
I agree that the dining table is too big. My followers have a really hard time navigating around it. Speaking of navigation, the navmesh on the bridge is also a bit off. My followers have consistent problems using it and the only sure way to get them to/from the cottage is to fast travel. Other than these issues, I love the place.
Hi All I re downloaded this , for a new playthru this time playing a a male for a change, and using jaxonz mod made a couple of changes just inside, the test tony entrance is pused down a couple n covers up by the stacked boxed, since I wasn't interested in using that area, and just main wanted the house itself ..

Thanks to compliments to lucans trader, where I grabbed a copy of the table n chairs, all the other plates n foods, I shrunk a bot n placed back on shelves - sry about image sizing I can never get that right ^^ ! ... ( was quite happy how it looks n turned out ) ..
While this mod is great, it conflicts with https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/23089/? and http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31368/? since they both occupy the same space/time location at the spot on the river.
Hello, Hope you had a nice time with summer holidays - good to get away from it all here! , I downloaded this again to have another look at it, ver 3.5 , plus its always on my track list , I've always loved this you can see it coming down the pathway with your helgen buddy , t but this time there was something new , I quest started up which was nice to see, quick little quest to get the key, but even with the quest starting when I went in again I'd already been to the house and it was open , but the quest was a good little extra , tho you forgot to lock the door ;p lol .. In the room below a couple of the shield racks don't seem to work !
To bad this mod seems to be abandoned. I really love the house and the area it's in. Nice and compact with some great features that will come in handy. Even though it says on the mod page that the quest should have been fixed, it doesn't seem to be. First, a key is not needed to enter the house. I had started a new game with the mod to try it out and I found the house before the grotto and was able to enter and use all of the features without having a key. Then when I went to the grotto after and found the key, the quest did not complete and remained in my journal. For an unrelated problem, I had to restart the game and this time I went to the grotto first and got the key, even though I knew I didn't need it, and went back to the house, and the quest still won't complete and clear out of my journal. I don't know if there are any other objectives I was supposed to do besides explore the grotto, but there doesn't seem to be any. The other thing, besides being mentioned the update changelog there is no other mention of a quest to find the key, or even needing a keey for the house on the mod page. Also, a window pops up about the garden when walking near the log pile on the island near the mill, before even reaching the bridge to get to the house. I did download the most current version of the mod.
I do agree with a couple of other comments that the table is too large for the size of the house. There isn't any room for followers, unless it's an animal follower like a dog, to stay in this house as there is no other bed besides the one, but its a great place for the solitary Dovahkiin adventurer. The armory isn't too bad and seems that it would have potential, but it seems unfinished to me, plus when you hover over the trap door to the armory cellar/basement it says "open TestTony" (I'm going to try to rename it with Jaxonz Renamer though) It has a lot of mannequins and weapon plaques (18 plaques do not work), and a few chests, but no displays for unique quest items except for Dragonpriest masks in which there are wooden busts set up for them.
I wanted to ask if i could make my own version (or multiple versions) with extensions and edited lighting, would you be alright with me releasing edited versions of this cottage? (i fucken love it lol) full credit to you of course with links to the original, if you say no ill do it anyway
Welcome back steezmyster!!! I am SOOOOOOO glad to see you're back!!! This little cabin has been my base home since last summer or thereabouts when I stumbled upon it. I just love it and don't want you to revamp it in anyway! Maybe fix a couple of things, like the 'food containers' that don't actually get used in the cookbook unburden function. It never takes the venison, leg of goat, and a couple more (can't think of them right now). I also agree with the suggestions to make the table smaller if there are to be no further additions. I would think just a table for 2 since there are no follower sleeping spots and no room for kids.I'd love to bring my kids here but I'm afraid you would change it too much and that simply wouldn't do. I love the warm, comforting, welcoming atmosphere and I'm really really happy with the cabin. It looks like it is meant to be there, has always been there and I don't want you to change a thing. Although, an "addition" to the backside would work for kids beds and a follower or two if you moved the forge and target practice to the side opposite the garden and horse stall. <G> But please don't change the current setup or feel of the cabin. There could be a simple doorway leading to a backside addition that could hold 4-6 kids beds at least and a couple of single beds in a follower room beyond the kids room. I absolutely adore it and spend much time in there. That would be nice especially if you kept the warmth and homey feel to those areas too.
This truly NEVER gets taken off my mod list and it's one of the first that I reinstall when I've had to rebuild my game. I'm hoping to get the guys at STEP to include it at some point in the future. Wouldn't that be awesome.. well yes, it would!! LOL In my opinion anyway. Seeing a new post by you really made my day, btw. Welcome back and may you never leave us again, this humble cabin is just too amazing to ever abandon.
So, thanks for my wonderful home. It's truly my retreat from the monsters and bad guys out there. I have a river to bathe in, wildlife to fill my pantry and a warm, inviting bed to rest my head on. Who could ask for more?
I endorsed this a long time ago but now that you're back I'll be tracking it as well so I will know when you make any corrections and/or improvements to my home. Yes, that's how I think of this mod. Silly how one can become so attached to a virtual world and all it contains! Though it's easy when Willow Creek Cabin is part of that world!
In the basement armory, dragon priest masks dissappeared from the mask display. I was dismayed. No upgrades or anything weird performed. 2 or 3 masks were placed on the display, and a few days later they had dissappeard, never to be seen again. I miss them. Sniff.
Not a bad little house at all. Very well organized inside. Biggest issue is that I'm pretty sure it's sitting right on top of the chest that spawns when you read Treasure Map I. It's certainly not in the hollow trunk up the hill right outside, which has been moved. There's also a floating tree nearby. Other than that, it's a fine house for your early adventuring career.
I do believe this mod has been abandoned. There's been no word from the author since July 2013. That's really sad as I love this house. It's my top go to home. There are some minor adjustments he could make and it would be perfect but alas I fear those things will never be done.
I'll continue to use it as is and maybe we'll get lucky and the author will return to Skyrim and the community on Nexus.
