After some minor frustration, and the use of the creation kit, Cathedral Assets Optimizer, and SSE Nif optimizer I believe that I have been able to successfully convert this mod for SE and AE. As of this moment I have been using it alongside More Werewolves, Diverse werewolf collection and werewolf perks expanded without issue, although I do not know how compatible it will be with other werewolf mods currently available for Skyrim SE/AE. If the mod author of the original moonlight tales would be willing to give his permission I wouldn't mind uploading this converted version of his mod to the Nexus for other users to download.
Were you able to port with all the resources? I have the SE version but it is much inferior than this version, the skins are sealed and you can't choose the color of the eyes separately, the Sharing the Beastblood, Curing the Beastblood and Werebeast Followers mechanics has been completely removed in the SE versions, and there is no other mod that does the same thing as well as this version.
Please i beg you: If its realy a fully converted version with everything the LE Edition has than PLEEAASSEE uploade it! That SE port from the mod maker is...im gonna be polite end not finish the sentence here but you know what i mean...
It has been 3 years and snstone has never uploaded the port even when peeps asked for it... I checked their profile for uploads and found absolutely nothing. I guess they're just a troll.
really cool that the gibbering lunatics are invincible. other people have had this problem as well. they dont take damage or even register it, arrows go right through them. apparently no fix except to open console and mark delete. very cool..
When you have some death alternative/defeat mod installed, they malfunction here and there and make random NPCs invincible. Try saving and reloading your current playthrough. If it doesn't work, the console commandDamageActorValue health <those health points or higher> works better than markForDelete.
These mods also randomly makes a group of hostile actors or all hostile actors in the game friendly. No solution on this one...
Please add a patch/update to support FluffWorks! I've also informed the patch creator of Fluffworks of this issue. The mesh part names in moonlight tales' texture sets and the fluffworks meshes don't match causing rendering issues on the head.
Hello. I just wanted to give some advice. Never put rune spells on any npc. It doesn't work well with the AI, they don't know that these spells only work by placing the runes on a surface. I have already removed these spells from the npcs you added them to.

I made my own conversion a while back but I don’t think it worked very well as I got crashed while using it.
I would love to be able to use this mod again in all its glory in Skyrim SE/AE.
