This mod will work on SSE directly. No porting or any conversion need to be done as it just contains texture replacers for Vanilla hair.

Works best with Vanilla mesh replacer mods.

Just wanted to say thanks for this mod, it's still excellent. I much prefer it over the more out there and anime-ish inspired hair overhauls.

Firstly, wanted to say I love this mod, I’ve been using it for a few years now and it’s always installed. I’m currently making a character mod of my own for the Xbox, which uses a ks hairstyle, the texture that uses isn’t vanilla, but one made for it, do I have to do something specific so that when that texture is loaded in game, this will effect it? I would love to figure out if that’s possible.

I know this is late, but in case you're still wondering: these textures won't work on KS Hair — each KS hairstyle has it's own individual texture. The best looking replacement textures I've seen for KS are the "Salt and Wind - Rough Hair for KS Hairdos SE" textures. Much better than the originals.

Created a patch for this mod here to address white/gray hair being blonde etc.

Even if thid mod is compatible with SE, maybe you should still make a page for it in Nexus. I've missed this mod for ages and I only came accross it when I searched for hair textures on google. This is way better than any other texture us SE users have and many of us would appreciate having this formally for our version, least we'll never know it ever existed. Yes, I properly installed it and as you said it works for my version, but my point is to make this mod known for other SE users.

It's crazy, i just noticed this mod today, lol.

I strongly agree on the point to making to port it on SE.

I agree.  The only reason that I even know about this is from when I was still on Oldrim.

Finally a decent hair mod, all the others are like they went to the salon while raiding tombs

Man the rugged hair look is so much better than the stylish hair we got for SE, wish i knew this mod existed earlier.

If you are using Vortex as your mod manager:  This DOES work, it simply isn't listed alphabetically in your Mods list.

However, you can verify that Vortex did install it by the following:

    • Go to  your Skyrim SE or AE file folder and open it up
    • Go to your Data folder and open
    • Scroll down to the Textures folder and open
    • Then go to the Actors folder --> then Character folder
    • Inside, there should be a Hair folder with three files
    • Two files will be hairlong.dds and hairlong_N.dds -- both of these should have dates that match the uncompressed files in this mod (e.g., 8/3/2013 and 8/4/2013 respectively); these are the textures
    • And the third should be the indicator file that Vortex is managing the Hair folder.

If you have the bug that some NPCs with white hair seem to have blond hair that some players are complaining about in the comments, I'm fairly certain this SE/AE mod fixes that:  Mild Hair Colors.

Is anyone else having issues getting the less saturated/less shiny versions to work? White hair still looks blonde.
    Im using Vortex.
