if there was a patch for this mod and Stormcloaks for Good Guys so you could start with Windhelm being extremely racist (moreso than usual) and then after the actions done in SfGG, the racism dies down, I'd be absolutely in love
Exactly what makes the Nord's in WIndhelm attitudes bigoted? The dirty knife eared Dunmer who are literally more racist than the high elves AND the Ayleids even screwed up and destroyed their own country. Then they have the BALLS to come in to Skyrim and demand that Ulric and the nords give them shelter and that to disagree with it is bigoted and racist. THEN when Ulric gives them space to stay they say that the war for independence they are fighting "isn't our war" even though it is since they now live in the nation of Skyim. If anything in all this the Dunmer are the racist bigots who refuse to do a little bit of work to pay for the refuge they were given.

On the other had the Empire are bowing to the Thalmor, that is essentially nazi elfs so that option are just as bad. This is why I end up with negotiating a truce, thou I would love to be able to play a more compahensive third option. Maybe convince Jarl Balgruuf to take a shot at the High king throne and help him get the other Jarls support at the moot, maybe even have him marry Elisif since he seem to be widowed or something. That would give the thane title more meaning.
I actually don't think that Jarl Balgruuf would go for marriage with Elisif... I mean, he's my favourite Jarl and I desperately want to find a nice polished mod that lets me make him high king and kick the arses of both the stormcloaks and the empire and rule Skyrim Happily Ever After...
But the marriage thing I think is unlikely.

So, Balgruuf and Irelith, right? They love each other dearly, that much is clear. Whether or not that love is romantic or simply the bond shared by old comrades is less clear. I do believe that they have consummated their love with physical passion though.. Because Nelkir has red hair. BEAR WITH ME. We Know: Jarl Balgruuf has blonde hair, Dagny and Frothar both have black hair, and Nelkir has red hair. Irileth has red hair. Nelkir has a different mother to Dagny and Frothar, but his mothers identity is a secret. Mephala calls Nelkir 'the dark child', even though he's physically fairer than the other two children, (this could be metaphorical, but I believe its has a double meaning). Elf-Human interbreeding is possible, and the offspring more closely resemble man than mer (see: the Bretons). Dark Elves have a closer relationship to the daedra than humans do.
So I think that Nelkir is the son of Irileth and that Irileth and Balgruuf have a secret relationship that they cannot be open about because of the stigma associated with inter-racial relationships. (inter-racial as in man-mer, not just racial in general.)
So yeah, I reckon Ireleth would be major pissed if Balgruuf married Elisif. Besides, *I* plan on marrying Elisif.
Impossible. Children always take the race of their mother, and none of Jarl Balgruuf's children are Dark Elves. Therefore it is impossible for Irileth to be their mother.
IIRC there's a report from Elenwen in the embassy that says they hope the Stormcloaks win the war because a "supreme" Skyrim would be easier to subdue than if it remained part of the Empire. So I'm not sure about niceguy's interpretation, but I could misremember
