The horse's mouth? Morel like the horse's ass, lol.
Oh, by the way: Elder Scrolls VI will have 1000x the detail of Skyrim, and will feature over 50 painstakingly hand-crafted caves and ruins for you to explore.
It's funny how quite a few of the people in the comments really have no understanding of what satirical works are and are mindlessly bashing the creator.
Because it's also 87% bugs and only 20% moddable. The rest of the bugs are hard coded. And on top of this, to fix most of the bugs requires scripting knowledge. Most people who play the game don't even use mods, so they are stuck suffering. 90% of the people who do use mods are reliant on mod management programs. And of that 10% who do mod, less than one tenth of one percent ( <0.1% ) know any scripting languages. And how many different scripting languages are there?
So with all that said, a game company cannot sue someone for modding their game. They can only go after people who illegally upload their IP for free. Don't fanboi so much. It's very unsightly.
"... Bethesda isn't suing us for doing so, so what's your complaint?..."
Why would they want to sue us for modding their game when they can profit from it?
If one were to read the EULA they would see that Bethesda technically (and legally) owns any mod (and its aspects/components) of their game that are released to the public.
This means they can take whatever you make and profit from it (or use it for whatever they want like advertising) without giving you a single euro.
Actually they can't. EULAs have been known to be tossed out of court frequently. And their idea of ownership only applies to their IP that you modify. Examples would be the mash ups of their meshes and edits to their textures, etc. No court on this planet would allow them ownership of original IP made by folks like me who do all our own content.
1.) see them ALWAYS tossed out when they have that lingo in them...
2.) stop seeing things released that occasionally suspiciously resemble mods that were already made...
...I'll assume they do have the capability.
Not to mention, if such language was truly as ineffective as some people (who generally lack legal knowledge of any kind (especially professional)) like to claim, I just have a hard time believing that lawyers of various million dollar plus corporations would waste their time using it over and over again.
"And of that 10% who do mod, less than one tenth of one percent ( <0.1% ) know any scripting languages. And how many different scripting languages are there?" Are you trying to tell me my scripting knowledge is 1 in 10,000 Skyrim players? Awesome. Anyway, the Creation engine only uses one language that's available to modders, called Papyrus, and it's extremely well-documented (mostly by Bethesda themselves).
"I don't like the food at this restaurant that I paid money to eat at. It's terrible and I regret spending my money." "YEAH WELL IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THEN WHY DON'T YOU BECOME A CHEF YOURSELF AND MAKE FOOD THAT YOU LIKE OTHERWISE STOP COMPLAINING!!!!11!!" See how dumb that argument is? And there already is a perfect RPG. It's called Morrowind :^)
Then, you criticize the product but not publicly humiliate the person who creates it, especially when it is a generic world class product and that person is an employee. You can also inform yourself better before buying.
About restaurant, when you pay for a menu it is not established that it must be to your liking. Again, if you want it to your taste, do it yourself or pay for an exclusive product.
Also, stupid is an unneeded degrading word, you know it, but seems you like this kind of things. I can say that your mod is stupid but I prefer to say that it makes nonsense. This way you understand the question and you are not humiliated.
Anyway, it seems the problem is not in the Todd's mouth but in your mind and, according with your friend Mr. Dave, seems it is hard coded. If not, be honest and delete this disrespectful mod.
So you're saying it's not okay to be unsatisfied with something you spent your own cash on purchasing? That we have to just mindlessly accept what we have? Makes no sense tbh. Also I'm sure Todd Howard could care less about a little mod poking fun at him.
I just found it funny because he also called someone out in the comments and said he was being a fanboi, when the dude was just asking whats wrong with Skyrim. And his comment here makes him a hypocrite - Dubbing this as the "Best Mod Ever" despite simple facts saying otherwise. That's exactly what fanbois do.
Exactly. He encouraged him to NOT be a fanboi, then went and did the complete opposite by posting a fanboi statement like this.
Edit: This is probably the most I've posted on any comment page ever. Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of time to keep at this so yeah... cya! And have a nice day
just a few ideas for you why do impressions when you can take the dialog from the man himself like you could take voice clips from videos featuring him talking about skyrim also I've always wanted to slit m'aiq the liar's throat xD
Haha... don't forget to add in sound bytes of him claiming the dragon picking up the giant and tossing him is not scripted. Biggest lie ever. I have over 3000 hours in and have never seen any dragon pick up anyone except the few who are scripted.
That itself might of been scripted, but a lot of stuff they just removed. But, that whole battle was scripted in a sense. (The battle is named e3demo and it's a quest.) Just because they say something, and then it's not there doesn't mean they didn't work on it. Most stuff was left out due to console tech, and time. Same thing with Oblivion, except BGS was actually going to leave Radiant AI and other graphical improvements (Which look better than Skyrim's graphics) in the PC version, but MS wanted the 360 version to look almost identical so they could sale more copies.
So much was removed in Skyrim due to consoles and time. 12-12-12 would of been better, but 11-11-11 was a marketing date. Dozens of quests undone, Civil War never properly finished. Nearly all of the questlines were cut short. There's a theory on the College of Winterhold one. Long story short is you cause the destruction of Winterhold back in the past by interacting with the Eye of Magnus, and at the end you undo the damage. There was also the Windhelm Pit, more theorized questlines for each Daedric Prince. (Each Daedric Prince had a form.) And so much more.
Anyways, they have been working on Fallout 4 for at least 3 years so far, so it'll probably be double the dev time for it. Skyrim didn't start until mid 2009 or so. They were too busy on the Creation Engine and the Fallout DLC.
