The game no longer crashes at the main menu if Skykids.esm is not enabled. Health, magicka, stamina, and their regeneration values are copied from the corresponding adult races. Racial spells are copied from the corresponding adult races. Keywords are copied from the corresponding adult races. The Skykids races are detected as their adult counterparts by conditions (and scripts?).
Notes:
The race-data spoofing and modified race detection allows you to use (race) overhaul mods without patches. I recommendImperious. If you are using Requiem, disable Skykids and related plugins when running its SkyProc patcher and re-enable them afterward. Otherwise, it will b&@*$ about nothing and quit. The Skykids ESM cannot be modified, but the Playable Kids and Alt Male Body plugins can. If you absolutely must change a record in the ESM, do it in a patch.
As Smidgy said below, this new DLL causes Skyrim to crash as soon as you speak to the Statue of Mara in the Live Another Life (LAL). I reverted back to the old DLL and everything appear to work fine again.
On the one-hand, the base character design is... creepy (I spent forever creating non-creepy presets). On the other hand, SK is the only fully-functional playable kids mod out there (basically, what RS children SHOULD have been in this regard).
Edit: As it turns out, it's the ALTERNATE bodies that make the kids look creepy. The vanilla-based option is fine.
Hello there, I was wondering, if you could add a file, that makes children's heads a bit smaller, like around 0.95 or so. The ones they have now are okay, but the smaller ones would be better, I think.
Ok so I looked in TES5EDIT and I found out that the only Hostiles that have adult heads with child bodies are any that are tagged as a different race. For instance, The ID for the one I have encountered is (0010aa66) That particular character is listed under the FOX race, but it is a human. Any NPC that has a vanilla race as one of the player races is converted to its appropriate child race.
I'm not sure why there are some humans that are marked as a critter race. But, does anyone know how to fix this? also I'm a little confused as to why a critter race would even find the child body.
