Thanks for the mod, it was fun. I have a problem, it can change the main character's face, but the main character's body remains the same, is this mod only able to change the face, or does it conflict with my other mods? I used it for a few more days, and I found my character is Nord, and if I become a character of another race, it will pop up a window and ask me if I want to enter the face pinching screen, like Racemenu. Also, if I change to another race, my status bar will not add any other race's characteristics, and I will keep Nord's characteristics, so this mod will only allow me to change to another Nord NPC for now.
Sorry for answer too late, but I don't visit classic Skyrim page very often. This effect has some limitations when target has different race because some body parts, morphs... can be incompatible, and can be difficult to restore original appearance. I have a more polished impersonation effect integrated in BOSSE mod, which support gender change and other features without problem (or only a few issues), it's a mod for Special Edition but can work with classic Skyrim, if you add necessary resources obviously.
Thanks for your reply, because my computer is relatively old, so I am still playing Skyrim LE, I came across this house mod-Riverwood Keep today, the NPCS in it are beautified, I can clone 100% of each other's faces, it is very interesting, but I don't know how it works. Thanks again for making such an interesting mod.
Not sure, scipts should work in SE but some changes related to heads included in SE could cause issues. I've updated and improved a lot of things for this spell in Special Edition, for example, support for morphs, gender change, etc, but it's integrated in BOSSE mod, a standalone version is not viable because new script use a lot of functions from this mod.
I like this mod. Not only i get to walk by bandit camps peacefully but i also noticed that i get the racial abilities from the copied race. Not just nord´s resistance to frost but i also got vampire abilities when posing as a vampire!
Yes, race is changed to target race temporarily, otherwise player couldn't use some body parts which are signed for target race and will look invisible.
It´s awesome!!!! Allthough i´m using a custom race (a skeleton race) and the first time i use "new identity" it changes perfectly, but then i go back to my original race and when i try to change back to my "disguise" it says "identity change failed". Is there a limited number of times you can use a new identity? is there something wrong? I had the same issue with two different skeleton race mods (didn´t like the first one)
The script show this message when something is wrong with target, for example, has different gender, isn't a valid target, or a prior transformation is still active (you have changed race using racemenu, or other mod has changed race, so F2F script thinks transformation is still running). Try to restore original race using spells, if this doesn't work, use console to set variable "AAAFace2FaceEnabled" to 0.
It's complicated, because face parts are signed as male or female in vanilla game, so they will look invisible if sex is wrong, the only posibility is changing character genre too, but this could cause issues, break quests, etc.
I eventually got around to trying this after having it downloaded for a week or so. When I tried it on two different female followers (My player was female) I got message - Identity Change Failed. Not a good start.
This message is shown when the effect is active and you cast again without restoring original face before, or when you use it with opposite gender NPCs. Some NPCs (some vanilla leveled actors or custom characters from some mods) looks as a female but has a male base, so system thins they are male and spell fails.
Hmmmm, I think something else is going on. I have tried 10 females across skyrim and get same failed message.
Edit:- Sure enough, something was going on.....me not reading the description fully! I was not using Face to Face first, but trying New Identity spell by itself. Doh.
Some custom followers mods include exported heads that don't match the real character data, for example, you can create a NPC based on nord race, export his real face and them replace it with another head mesh created for an elf, so he will look like an elf ingame but his character base is for a nord. Since scripts only can get info from character base record, they get original head data. For this reason spell doesn't work with some custom characters.
New effect that add player character to target factions, so these factions will be friendly but their enemies probably will attack you. Factions supported: Civil war Imperial and Stormcloak, bandit, forsworn, necromancer/warlock and thalmor.
Now change spell can't be used if player is in combat.
If you don't want magic effect, and only want appearance change, you can disable extra effects using console. Open console and type: set F2FextraEffects to 0
Unless im not running a mod i should be, every time i use this to copy a child (who better than to hide from the gaurds as). my apperance doesnt change only shink to what would be about knee high.
