A big Thank You to the donors for sharing a token of appreciation and to the wonderful video creators who shared their time and talents to feature my mod in their video showcases! Thanks also to everyone for the nice comments and endorsements - these simple things keep modders like me happy to share and contribute our time and efforts. First off, I would like to clarify that my mods will always be free of charge to use and download. However I would like to keep them Nexus exclusive and may not be uploaded to any other external sites.
These Stormcloak armor replacers are part of my unfinished projects which I started way back in 2013 when I was still more active in modding, I just had a chance to finish them now and share them (2 years after). Time permitting, I still have a few pending mods here that I might consider uploading when I see them fit for release.
FAQ:
Will you do a new texture replacer for Imperial armors, Guard armors, Stormcloak officer, etc.? - NO. I have no plans at the moment because I believe there are already several mods in existence that has done a good job on these.
Is it compatible with the Sleeved Stormcloak variant, Open-faced helms...etc.? - YES. It is basically just a texture replacer modelled in exact same way as the vanilla design - so any mod that use these vanilla textures will also benefit from Stormcloak Armor Revival.
Is it compatible with UltraHD - Stormcloak and City Guards (by frankfamily)? YES. Install that mod first, then overwrite the Stormcloak armor textures with my mod.
Why no models for the belt and accessories in your cuirass texture? - If you think they're flat, try vanilla . On a serious note, I compensated this with bump mapping to minimize system strain (no extra polygons) and they don't look flat in-game (unless you get very very close).
Can your mod affect system performance? -No. If you use the 2K or 1K version, it will not have an impact. The 4K version, of course, will add system strain but it is just optional to those who can afford it.
What's next? - I would like to put my time and efforts on vanilla items that don't have proper replacers in existence yet.
This mod is great but FYI in Skyrim SE it messed up the opening / intro cart scene with me. I think cause this mod (from Oldrim) changes Ulfric's and all the soldiers in the other carts armor sets, which causes some collision issues with the cart perhaps?
This mod makes the Stormcloak armor look great. My only wish is that there was a low level (like iron or base steel) Stormcloak armor. Like iron with these textures as the "cloth" over the iron. Just well done on this mod and thank you.
Anyway youd be applying this to the other guards? seeing as how its the EXACT same armor in everyway just differently colored... there like a copy paste function you could do? I don't make mods so im just guessing here, would just be cool to see it on other guards is all.. cause I barely see stormcloaks anymore
It most definitely is not the exact same. The differences might seem to be in minor details, but compare this to vanilla or other HD retextures (like Frankly HD Stormcloak and City Guards), and it really shows. It looks rougher and more "Nordic", with different belts and fur in certain places, making Stormcloak armor actually looks very unique, while still resembling normal city guards.
Well that would defeat the point of this mod. Stormcloaks always felt like just guards. They are, but they're not. They've managed to hold the Empire back who compared to Stormcloaks are geared far better for open warfare. Now I don't look at them and think just guards anymore. Now they actually look the part of rebels holding off the Empire. Must have mod.
