- Gave most fabric textures a more worn look. Several fabrics are also brand new, and added for some more distinct variety than simple palette-color-swapping.
- Fixed a mixing texture on the ropes for the hanging kitchen utensils
- Tweaked the wardrobe armor "skirt" that would sometimes flicker on-and-off. Hopefully it has now resolved itself.
It's a small, but aesthetically significant update. Though it may not be directly obvious, most fabric textures have gotten some kind of tweak to blend in better with the worn world of Skyrim. Added a sample-picture last in the gallery if you want to take a look.
- New custom canvas texture for the hammock and reading "bean-bag"
- The Drafting table will now give you 10 seconds to exit the menu after building the Decoration Options (the last one). Then the drafting-table will disappear. If you still "get stuck", just hit jump, and you will cancel the "reading-schematics-animation".
- New oil-lanterns hanging from the ropes inside in the ceiling
- new outside brazier-lantern hanging near the Hotbed garden. This lantern is now animated, and will swing softly in the wind.
- Revised the design of the stove. It is now much more detailed, with new doors made in Markarth-esque design. The stove has a better activator for opening the fire-door, and no longer extends up along the wall, invisibly.
- Bigger and better actvator for the wood-chopping block. Much easier to activate now. Also moved the activator for the outside-fireplace toggle to make it slightly easier to hit.
- Fixed an odd shadow on the base of the candelabra in the reading area. Shadows now look alright.
- The inside of the "grammophone-horn" now has proper shadowing, similar to the one in Hermit Cottage. Looks much better now.
- Tool-boxes have been combined into one central Drafting Table located outside.
- Fixed a missing texture on an outside basket.
- Adjusted the firepoker outside so it no longer goes through a rock.
- Adjusted the campfire so the stones are set deeper into the snow
- Made a lot of the building recipes significantly easier to build. They seemed a little too punishing to me.
- Outside ropes for the garden lantern are now more worn-looking.
After building the decoration options, the workbench will disappear but your character will stay in the enchanting-table-animation. Cancel out of the current menu, and hit "jump", and you'll be back to normal
Hi there! I really like the mod. But after checking my load order I found that your mod has a lot of errors in it. Should I be worried about these? Or can I ignore them? Thanks again. https://imgur.com/a/rCypvTh
I went through this mod carefully in TESedit for this release, to make sure that it would be more more stable (in a way I haven't done before, admittedly, outside of fixing ITM entries).
So, it should be the most stable release so far, as far as I can tell.
I can't tell by the image you posted what the errors are pointing to; none of them are recognizable to me.
I think a lot of errors can safely be ignored, in general. Finding relevant errors is a little difficult, when even the official files appear to have errors within them. The general feedback I've gotten is that this home works quite well, and the problems that occasionally happen are minor.
So, I think it's safe to use this home. It doesn't use any scripts that continuously run. It's actually very simple (if not crude), script-wise.
Try it out for a while, and if you find substantial problems, please make a detailed report about it on this forum. Thanks!
I know it's been years but I still wanted to stop by and say, wow, great work! Since this released I put off adding it to my game as I was satisfied with my modded Breezehome but I kept thinking about this and I'm so glad I did. This cozy little hideout is soo well thought out and unique! I honestly don't need another home but I'm going to use this one anyways. I love that any items that aren't from the vanilla game blend seamlessly and you didn't just barf random objects such as miniature dragons or pictures from other games into it. The little dwemer style indoor plants, OMG XD. Tiny little stations for all crafting (anvil, workbench, alchemy, enchanter within a few feet of each other) and it doesnt feel crowded. Happy sigh* Can't even explain the feeling of popping in here after being in snowy areas.
Zero problems so far. I used the cheat chest to build and it was still satisfying and fun. Seriously underrated mod Endorsed x1000. I might like to see the little display area allow for flexibility cause I like to display a few daggers since you get a lot of really neat looking ones that you never need to use.
Hey! I'd really love to use all of your buildable home mods, but found that most of them contain deleted navmeshes. Could you fix that? Great stuff apart from that.
Edit: I'm sorry, of course i meant deleted navmeshes, not undeleted ones as i initially wrote. Also sorry that i kept my comment so short. Accidentally deleting navmeshes is a common mistake one makes when editing the worldspace in the ck. Deleted navmeshes can cause CTDs when other plugins try to reference those navmeshes. This affects all your home mods except this one afaik. Undeleting those navmeshes requires some understanding of what you did to create the mod, so they are best fixed by the author. There are plenty of guides online on how to fix that.
Most of your mods also contain ITM records and deleted references which can easily be fixed in TES5Edit.
Your mods are really great otherwise, so it'd be great if you could find time to look into this.
No worry; I will look into it when I have some time.
i was very tired and worn-out when replying to you, so I apologize for being so snippy.
Every time I push out a new release, I try to address every issue imaginable, and each update takes close to 2 hours across all platforms (packaging, testing, etc), so it's always a bit of a bummer that I've missed something, and have 2 hours of work ahead of me.
This might have compounded the reason I replied in the way that I did. I hope it doesn't affect your enjoyment of my work.
Also, it is better if you reply to a post rather than editing your original message. It's easier for me to see new posts this way (I periodically check the "last posted message" for my mods in order to keep up).
Hey. I really love this "house". It's amazingly designed and exactly what I was searching for. I also like the little details, like, being able to change the pillows and turn on/turn off the lights, etc.
But there is a small problem I'm having. I can build and use everything just fine but when it comes to the laboratory, I'm not able to build it. When I click on the construction crate and the menu for building the laboratory appears, the mod doesn't locate the frost salts, even though they are in my inventory. So I'm not able to use them. I allready tried getting the salts by cheat, or by normally buying or stealing them, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I also uninstalled and then reinstalled the mod multiple times (even the different files), but that also doesn't help.
I hope you have any idea, how to help me fix this, because I really want to use this mod, since, as I said, it's amazing. Thank you
i'm having the same issue, i have no idea why either. i undownloaded all my mods an redownloaded them one by one to test it but it still didn't work it.
ps: same issue is going on with the hideaway as well.
Orin: UPDATE, no this issue ain't a thing with the hideaway anymore. thank goodness! ALSO< OMG I LOVE THIS EVEN MORE! no seriously this is so cool! i'll play real quick to check the well. like a half hour an let you know, sorry for the wait :/
it's all good. Hermit's Cottage too. XD Thank you for updating and fixing the problem Orin! LOVELOVE the homes XD <3
I just updated the mod to see if it fixes my problem, and it did! I can now use the toolbox and build the laboratory! So thank you for that :D
But now I have some other, rather small, problems. They don't bother me that much, but i still wanted to tell you about them. After I built the laboratory I looked around to see if everything was working alright. While doing this I noticed three small things.
1.) The pillow isn't located on the stool properly. It's, like, hanging a bit over the edge of the stool. So it looks like one half of it is floating in the air, while the other half is lying on the stool normaly.
2.) I noticed that the Sun Simulacrum-Machine isn't appearing propperly. Over the half of it is just invisible. I can see the little light-crystal on the bottom, the small handle and the cylinder on top, but the rest of it just isn't there, for some reason.
3.) I also noticed, that the flower pot underneath the machine isn't showing up.
I already tried reinstalling the mod, and checked if using the stuff changes anything, but it doesn't. Everything else is working just fine.
As I said these things don't bother me that much, and I still think your mod is just excellent and I love it, but I also wanted to tell you about those small problems. Thank you ^^
Take some pictures of these problems and upload them on imgur so I can see. Also make sure that you try out the home with near-zero mods installed if you can, to rule out conflicts.
The pillows don't have any collision on them, so they shouldn't be capable of moving at all. Things should clip through them if nothing else. Do you have any mod that changes seating/seating-animation/chairs?
Sun simulacrum sounds odd, but could just be bad luck unless you've tried it several times with clean saves. I am unsure of what you mean with the flower pot. Do you mean the bucket with dirt and a shovel in it, or do you mean the fat trough that houses the two planting spots?
Hey! I just have to say that I LOVE your buildable house mods! I have the cave one and am excited to try this one and The Repose! I love how lore friendly it is (I mean by the way you have to build it yourself), it makes it feel so much more like you earned the place! Keep up the good work!
That's very nice of you, and I'm glad you appreciate my work!
The Repose will eventually get an update as well. I have plans to add a little treasure collection side-room, and perhaps tidy it up a bit. There is something sloppy about it that I don't like.
The aesthetic is 85-90% there. It needs a little bit of more finesse before I'm happy with it.
The update is pretty low on the list though, but it is coming, in due time. Cheers.
Hi there, excellent mod, loving its look! However, TES5Edit is showing quite alot of errors in the esp. Anything that can be done? I'm afraid of removing some of them in case anything breaks..

Undeleted navmeshes in what context? Where are they? Why are they a problem? How do they impact the main function of this mod as a player home?
I need precise details on issues I am not aware of, if I am going to be able to address them.
This is not useful reporting.

Redsineya: Does the new version of the Hideaway released on januari 1 2018 exhibit the same problem? Does everything else work?

Here is the link. I took a picture of each problem.
I also checked my mods and I don't have any mod that changes seating/seating-animation/chairs.
I'm not really sure what causes these problems, expecially because everything was showing up and working perfectly, before I updated the mod.
Also, with "flower pot" I meant the fat trough that houses the two planting spots. Sorry for the confusion. ^^'

Although it is a small space, how about a second floor or another alternative? :B
Thanks!!!
