I can only give permission for my ESP file. The permissions on Better Potions allow use of the meshes, but I don't know which of Gamwich's creations the textures are from (should've kept better notes!).
I've just contacted Gamwich to ask for permission to use their assets again. I'll see if I can find the time to port this mod myself. It should be a simple job so if you don't hear from me in, say, a few days, feel free to ask again. (I can be forgetful.) If nothing else, I can at least let you know whether and how Gamwich has replied.
For some reason 'immersive potions(heal over time)' and 'simple potions' don't like each other. It will either deactivates the healing over time effect of immersive potions, OR the healing, stamina, and magic pots will be vanilla but all the other potions will rock the vial appearance. It depends on what loads first. Damn it, i like them both.
Oh wow, I'm sorry. I didn't notice this comment when it was originally posted.
This would be because only one mod at a time can edit a given kind of object (e.g. a type of potion). Each mod will undo the other mod's edits. There are "patchers" that can be used to resolve this (by combining the changes from both mods into a single "merged patch" or "bashed patch" to go at the end of your load order), but I'm not entirely familiar with their usage.
I didn't use Better Potions by Syncing (or Potion Phials Simplified by Hermione2442, it's exactly the same for me) because of the horrible textures. Thank you very much for this addition !
I know absolutely nothing about Requiem. Would a patch need to contain the meshes and textures, or would it be purely an ESP?
This mod is made from other people's assets, so I'm taking a hands-off approach with its permissions. If you can make a patch for it while adhering to the permissions for Syncing's Better Potions (meshes can be included with attribution and a link) and Gamwich's work (textures can be included only with explicit permission), then feel free.
It would only require an esp that is dependent on SImple Potions, in order to include Requiems changes to potion names & effects while redirecting to the mesh filepath. Also to link a few Requiem added potions to the new meshes. Just a lot of dragging and dropping in tesvedit
Requiem doesn't actually natively support Dragonborn as yet (although there's an unofficial patch) so I'd probably have to do one with and without Dragonborn dependency. Same with Hearthfire. I'd also like to reduce potion weights to reflect the new meshes.
Cool, one more question: might be better that I make an esp replacer. Would that be acceptable? I wouldnt be able to make non Dragonborn/Hearthfire version otherwise. Folks would still need to download your mod for the assets of course I just like to make sure I ain't breaking any protocols
Thank you! Potions should always have been in miniature vials & never in enormous flasks!! With the different colours for different effects it is just perfect Thanks Hexxagone & David for this brilliant mod - it is actually incredibly game enhancing when it genuinely becomes realistic to carry 20 potions in a little belt pouch!!! Would it be possible to include these recolours in the potion textures for "Bandolier - Bags & Pouches" by Dragten? Thanks again!
Ha ha yeah, totally can use the potion belt now because before it was "wait, I have nothing that looks like this". Now can't you totally see yourself plucking one off the belt in the middle of battle? Instead of: "wait guys, gotta rummage through this backpack here for one of 20 huge bottles."
And of course anything with Gamwich involved is a must-load for me, so very good taste DavidJCobb!
I created this mod because it was requested by another user who wanted something customized to their liking. They and I both figured, why not upload it after?
The mod you've linked to is good for if you want potions to be unrecognizable at a glance. This mod changes potions to a simpler style, while leaving the categories recognizable by color. Options are good.
I've not used that mod but it states on the description that it is unfinished, only covering half the potions. Dont know if that's still the case. So a more complete option is most welcome.
Still, this is a re-texturing of the already existing mod. . . Better to, at least, link original mod in the description.
I did link to the original mod in the description. You're discussing a totally different mod, which I hadn't even heard of until you posted it here.
A user requested that I take a mesh from Better Potions, change the potion colors, and apply textures that they had requested from Gamwich. (The "good news" they reference in their request thread refers to their having received the finished textures, which they passed on to me.) I changed the potion colors (which required edits to vertex colors in the meshes) and assigned the new models to potions in the CK. All assets used were credited and linked in my mod description. I take credit and permissions very seriously.
Better Potions came first, and is where the mesh in this mod came from. The author of this mod apparently didn't even know about Potion Phials Simplified and couldn't have possibly taken the mesh from there.
Permissions from Better Potions are as follows: "Feel free to use the models are textures, but you have to credit me and please link back to this mod." <- This was clearly done by the author on the main description of this mod.
Potion Phials Simplified doesn't own the bottle mesh. A request was made for a potion replacer to use Better Potions bottle which is owned by Syncing. This mod uses a new texture by Gamwich and adds 6 bottles instead of one.
They use the same bottle mesh but that's where the similarities end. Of course they would seem similar because the original free asset is a potion bottle. Gamwich and Syncing were credited, its not hard to comprehend.

No idea how to rig this up with any animation mods, sorry.
Love the look of these

Potion Phials Simplified took the bottle meshes from Better Potions and applied the same bottle to all potions.
He doesn't need to credit Potion Phials Simplified or the author.
Oops. I was looking at Syncing's mod mistakenly. But, you know, cool your jets...
I don't understand why you're being so argumentative.
