Wow, this blew up fast. Thank you for all of the well-wishes and support!
As mentioned before, it will be a couple of weeks before the next update is available (end-of-month is always hellaciously busy for me). But to summarize:
* Vampire and Werewolf compatibility is very high on my list. * Getting some of the things in the MCM usable is also very important, including being able to start up and shut down the entire mod. * Food is spoiling much too rapidly. I plan to address this. * Adjustments to Focus and Unbound Intensity will also be part of this update. * I will be trying to incorporate an additional primary need into the next update. This will help flesh out Vitality more as more things tie into it.
The discontinuation of this mod is the greatest tragedy of tragedies. Chesko is the most visionary mod mechanics developer and his work always strikes the most perfect balance. hes a genius. Every other needs mod is nothing compared to his vision and unique exquisite attention to detail that he brings to all his mods.
Hard disagree. His mods are way too bloated with menus, popups, HUD messages and lots of other screen clutter. iNeed is much more seamless. Too much fucking about in MCM menus when I just want to play the damn game.
this was meant to be the last needs mod of all needs mods, shame it wasn't continued. Chesko has a unique talent, I miss his mods, even though I've virtually banished Frostfall from my load order, I still have found memories of play-throughs where I was unable to finish the main quest due to being constantly distracted by dealing with the cold! xD
Somewhat do not suggest Ineed. it causes save errors which can lead to crashes for some people in ways that are hard to predict, and often after a very long period of play.
If you use iNeed, DO NOT check the "Dangerous Diseases" box! It will play nice for a while, then start crashing your game when you save. I'd read about the problem somewhere (Reddit?) and hoped it wouldn't affect me, but my game started crashing and only stopped when I unchecked the box. Never had a problem with it otherwise.
It's true, I've noticed it through 6 different playthroughs with 6 different builds, and I'm not the only one who has experienced this. Both the Deadly Disease plugin and the food spoiling scripts will cause issues in the long run resulting in CTDs and save issues. They can be fixed by uninstalling the mod and doing a clean save process with a cleaning tool and reinstalling later, but eventually it'll happen again. Just because you are lucky enough to not have experienced it doesn't mean it doesn't happen to the rest of the community.
@Avvoltoio I'm not saying iNeed is a bad mod; quite the contrary, it's great! Just don't use the Dangerous Diseases or Food Spoilage options and you'll be fine.
It most certainly IS true. iNeed causes random CTDs when saving. I've confirmed this by loading ONLY iNeed with the base game and DLC. It happens with or without the Dangerous Diseases functionality toggled on. It is a well-documented issue that no one can fix because no one can figure out what causes it.
For everyone here asking about a better mod for needs, after using all of them already I recommend ZF Primary needs, just try reading the instructions on how to use the features in game, is not as flashy as I need, but is much, much better than any other in my opinion, just to help out a bit, it depends of a single spell that you can use to check your status and also to do some actions like filling bottles of water and more.
''It's true, I've noticed it through 6 different playthroughs with 6 different builds'' maybe thats the issue? You changed several things and the game still broke. To test, you change one thing then check the results.
You cant throw in six spices to taste test your oregano. It needs to be plain oregano.
Someone needs to pick this back up again. This sounds like a much better system than iNeed and Dangerous Diseases. I really like the ideas implemented here.
