If you don't know what to do next, make sure you don't have any objectives. If you have no objectives, wait for a letter.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: The courier came to me but I didn't get a letter. There is an issue with siege letters already appearing as read, as far as I know there is nothing I can do about this. If you already have some letters, read through them or remove them until you find one you can't remove and that's the letter.
Q: I'm sided with Skyrim and I can't win the defense of Riften or the defense of Markarth. The defense of Riften and first defense of Markarth are meant to be lost on the Skyrim side. This way the Dominion can control some territory and you can have a proper war. As of the 1.01 update if you haven't lost after about 10 minutes, it will automatically end.
Q: I can't find the carriage in 'The Finale' quest Due to a mistake with dialogue, the carriage is actually at Falkreath, not Riften.
Encountered a problem with the Finders Keepers Synod sidequest. Once Fort Greenwall is cleared of all enemies, the imperial mages just stand around, weapons drawn. I find no aldmeri "officer" spawned anywhere at the fort (the officer quarter cell is empty). From what I've found, Fort Greenwall tends to be buggy even in vanilla, so I'd consider it a bad spot for mod content.
Anyway, completed the quest with "setstage _gwsidequestskyrim2 255", which I found in a previous post, but now I'm missing its dialogue resolution. Like someone said here already, a list of quest stages would go a long way. Didn't have any prior issues with the mod, though.
They should have been in one of the 2 main areas where you fight the soldiers, and then later when you go outside they would show up again. Unless maybe you were somehow able to kill them, though that shouldn't happen as they're temporarily essential. Even then though, it should still continue once they're all dead, unless someone glitched and was far off or in the underground part of the fort. These types of missions do have weird issues sometimes, it seems.
Stage 15 is the stage that would trigger the final dialogue, 255 ends the quest. You will get another quest after finishing this one, after some time has passed.
Thanks for the setstage # for future playthroughs' sake. Just finished the whole thing today, kicking the Dominion out of Skyrim. No further issues, except my music bugged out after the closing cutscene in Solitude. Same combat theme kept playing in cities and homes, until I restarted the game. Not a dealbreaker though.
Allow me to join the masses, and state you've done a fantastic job!
Glad you didn't run into any other issues, I will hopefully eventually release a patch update that fixes any final bugs I can fix. Thanks, I'm happy to hear you had fun!
I recently won the civil war as the Stormcloaks, I think the messenger for this mod is trying to approach me for the stormcloaks (Thonjolf I think) and every time he tries to give me the letter nothing happens, now he is continually following me around, and trying to give a letter that doesn't exist
I seem to have a missing texture on the Aldmeri coin. Is this a known issue for anyone else? I'm trying to see if I have a conflict somewhere that I'm just not seeing
Oh really? Weird. Sorry about that. Time to examine my load order then lol While Im here, really loved the mod. Lives up to its ambition incredibly well, easily one of the best "dealing with the Thalmor" mods on the Nexus. Can not recommend it enough for people who've wanted more out of the CW and the greater conflict from the Dominion
This was lots of fun! The voices were great. I appreciate that they sounded normal like default voices. I didn't come across anything that I deemed a permanent problem. In the end, when I returned from The Cave, I traveled by regular carriage to Solitude. Then fast traveled to the city itself. Only when I entered the city of Solitude did the words to enter the cave go away. That was such a relief! I finished and saved to come write this. I wonder now will I find pockets of enemies that couldn't retreat.......
Hi, don't know if there's someone still around. I'm having a bug at the very end, after defeating the Thalmor final boss, Malpen tells you to go back to Solitude to report to Sialius. However, no objective arrow appears and when I make it to Solitude, there's no option to report your success to Sialius. Malpen also seems to be stuck as my follower since the quest doesn't end.
Great f*#@ing mod, perfect for a Thalmor playthrough. There is something though I would love being added. Remember the option of having to report to a guard about dark brotherhood leader being killed? I couldn't report it to a Thalmor/Aldmeri guard and had to report it to the non-thalmor/city guards (some mod conficts made all non-thalmor guards hostile all the time but thats another story) yet I'm surprised I couldn't report it to the Thalmor guards. If it's not a burden, it'd be something very nice to add :)
I guess I missed it when trying to look for any quests involving guards, sorry about that. It's too late now to get any more voiced lines for the guards.
Sorry, there are supposed to be delays to help make it not that often, but I really need to add an option to just turn them off. You can remove yourself from the Skyrim faction though this will also disable them. Put help "Skyrim Player" in the console, it should pull up the ID for the faction which should be something like xx0354c3, then just put player.removefromfaction theID

Are you still having trouble with the courier?

Thank you. I enjoyed this tremendously!
