If you want to use a controller, you'll have to use an external program like xPadder to map your analog stick to your keyboard's left-right keys. Native controller support is not easy because there is no easy way to read the direction the player is moving with an analog stick. "Strafe Left" and "Strafe Right" controls are not assigned for controllers. I am still looking for a workaround.
A few users reported rare issues with 1st-person when using xpmse. You can still use xpmse skeleton, but to fix you'll have to disable the plugin for xpmse (MCM config features). I personally use XPMS and have no issues.
I ran into a problem, apparently after the wrong removal of the mod (somewhere I unchecked the sight by inattention). Instead of a crosshair, I still have a crosshair in the form of a dot (from the True Direction mod) and does not change both in the TDM itself and after removing it.
I've been liking the mod a lot. The only thing I think it needs is the ability to look around with the camera so I don't have to depend on script-heavy mods like pc headtracking.
I have been using version1.13 since it came out. it has been a must-have for me. Since I have hundreds of well orchestrated combat saves for replaying when I play the game, I can't afford to do a clean update to version3.0 for them all. So I simply uninstalled the old and installed the new and hoped for the best. Surely it warned me on loading, but once I got in to check, all went well like nothing had been changed.
The newly added forward/backward control and sneak control are just what make this lovely mod even more awesome. After choosing new parameters in the new MCM console, I can just play through whatever combat situations without ever the need to use mouse wheel for zooming -- it all happens automatically and is smooth as silk and SWEET as honey.
I've been having a weird issue with this mod. It's my third time around playing with this mod and I really like it. But I've noticed a big issue for me now, When I start a new game and let all the mcm's get added, after a while it will just crash the game. I can play a save game no problem, but starting a new one just doesn't work for me. This is not a huge issue as I can install it after starting a new playthrough, and I highly suggest you all try this mod out.
