What I wish for is an Environs-style mod for the people to build the guards a tower (with newer-looking stone) at the back of the clearing where they camp outside once assigned by Balgruuf. It's not as easy (cheap) as retaking the Riverwood Folly (the old watchtower halfway between Riverwood and Bleak Falls Barrow) but it makes for a far, far better response time when dragons arrive. Remember; their main job as assigned by Irieleth is to get the townsfolk to safety should a dragon attack Riverwood.
I just discovered this mod today and just finished checking it out. I don't know how I overlooked this mod till now. First off I must say this mod is an absolute gem! It's not a large home by any means, but it has all the essentials. What is the most striking to me is that it fits into the landscape seamlessly and it feels organic, like it has always been there and it belongs there! I'm running a few mods in that area, SkyFix_Riverwood Redeveloped 1_2 and Whiterun Valley 3.08 Whiterun Interior Version which adds stuff all around Whiterun and all the way up to Riverwood. Both of these mods are fairly big files, but they all run perfectly together with no issues. The Views from this mod are fantastic! For anyone that is on the fence about downloading this mod, just do it! Even if you don't plan on using the home it's still a great addition to the landscape and it looks great!
First downloaded this mod back in August 2021 and really like the tower overlooking Riverwood, though not as a player home, I liked the existence of the place and had always would've liked there to be extra guards placed there after informing the Jarl of the dragon attack on Helgen. Instead it is an old tower that someone whom I never ever happen to meet is keeping up the place. Over time sometimes I would have the mod active, sometimes not. It has been a long while since I have had it and decided to redownload yesterday and discovered it has had an update, some things were changed. I love the changes to the place, cleaner, better organized. One thing that really stood out were those bird nest and rests and the extra detail of adding bird feathers about, really neat idea for a person to have an ample supply of wild bird eggs and if Skyrim had the ability to, to train hawks, gets the imagination going anyway.
I Luuv this "home." It's almost like I designed this myself. It's got space to walk around, doesn't feel cluttered, yet still has plenty of "stuff" and clever touches.
Enjoying this mod, I have to say I like the underground spring, never understood why people what smelters in their houses and agree that the cooking pot should be in the kitchen area. I have JK's Riverwood and T'skyrim Riverwood loaded and this sits in very nicely with that set up.
Just a heads up there is a clash with, I believe, Majestic Mountains, which means the cellar door only is blocked from the outside. You can still exit the tower from the cellar, but externally it just looks like part of the mountain with a few steps off the road.

However i would have added 3-4 bandits inside that occupy the place... With a small quest given in Riverwood, saying that a little group just started to make rukus in the tower not long ago, and Riverwood people are scared they try to raid the town soon.
Would have made it even more lore friendly and also gave a reason for the player to actually poccess it, instead of any other character in the area.
Exactly,nice idea.Why whould you do anything for the house when it is just given to you for free.Fight for it ,be forced a little bit to make progress on the start of the game.You just starting in Riverwood you have nothing just some basic things what you collect in Helgen why would you need enchanting and all those things.I downloaded so many cozy houses too for my game but all of them cost more then 20 000 for obtain them,they not for free .So im forced to do something to earn those golds.Not mentioning housemods like LC-Build your Noblehouse where i must build the whole kingdom first to get the daily incomes.
My new favorite Playerhome for my Orc. Only thing I kinda don't like is the whole underground spring thing, makes it way to swanky and would trade it for a kids bed any day, never understood why every player home needs a pool and such, still a really a great Home :)
