This is the official version of the Curse of the Vampire for Skyrim Special Edition, the old Curse of the Vampire mod no longer exists and COTV II has adopted it's name and is officially now known as just "Curse of the Vampire" So if you were looking for Curse of the Vampire II you have found it.

I am happy to announce that COTV V7 has been released (You probably through I would never update it)

    • Added new toggle options in the MCM to boost Silver Damage and switch between Normal and Royal Vampire Lord armor.
    • Increased the chance for Potent Vampire Blood to drop 10% up from 5% and fixed the duplicate poison damage description.
    • Fixed bug causing NPC Vampires who take sunlight damage to hit you with a message stating that your taking damage even if you not a Vampire.
    • Added Feed Damage, Feeding on NPCs will know deal 50 damage per bite, Guards and Bandits may survive several bites but most citizens will only survive 2 or 3 at the most.
    • Removed the obsolete Vampire Nightmare message boxes, they added clutter and did not really add anything to the mod.
    • Altered the "Weakness to Sunlight" effect to only come into effect when the IsPleasant conditions are met instead of light levels which could be effected by spells and torches.

    Please Remember:

This is a complete Vampire overhaul so you have to install it on a new game to be safe, if you become a vampire and you lack specific skills then it is a sign that another Vampire script is overwriting mine or has been baked into the Save.

Loving the mod but the seduction power is OP. There should be a difficulty check of some kind or a stealth requirement.
    Otherwise it's awesome!

25 February 2025, 5:20PMHi ive been playing on this mod for the last  8 months Its pretty good i think
Id sure love if you made an update, but if you want to keep it AS IS i understand

I made some personal tweaks to this in my own game - i tried to expand on power you already made- and combine them into an all-in-one
    those blood potions effects

but also i rely heavily on other mods that tweak the vampire experience, such as being able to feed on downed opponents and gain a small health Heal from it, sure helps when you cant use heal potions..

i think that Molag Bal is cool, but rogue vampires can be fun

vampires deserve so much more credit, they needs props, fashion , lighting .. body textures  . fangs HD / the list is long

i tried to make my own Vampire playthrough, and just stay at level 1, and never level up, it was fun. it was hardcore. like anything can kill me, but if i stealth in properly i can take out powerful opponents.

    Project Re Mortal
    become mortal again
    step out of your cave
    face the sunlight (and suffer!)
die to flaming arrows and silver weapons and dawnguard
but you can take advantage of the strengths of the shadows and take over skyrim from the darkness

im not trying to endorse other peoples mods OR My own mods=  i get nothing for it, but i think this one was a good contributor towards my mod vampire experience.

    ancient blood magic 2

but also they need style KozaKowy , and DX

Probably BnP skin that is amazing really  the teeth are so high def it blows my mind

But you cant be a powerfual and Amazing Vampire, you have to have a world that lokos beautiful and immersive too,
thats all 1k 2k 4k textures trees mountains caves ruins , all dyndos LODs
    elf x
Darker Nights, for amazing immersion , gives you good reason to use Vampire SIght Skills

but thats not enough you need all your armors and clothes from vanilla to be upgraded and jewelry to 1k 2k 4k mandatory or it just wont look good.
i really can appreciate the work of Lenny, Resurgence Armory Is acceptable,

but then you need all the vampire moves- thats ridiculous all the jumping too , thats double-jump mandatory,
levitate and anti grav helps. then you need something like BFCO and OAR and nemesis to manage all your action moves - this is no small task..
you need VIOLENS Killmoves and MOre vampire animations and sub-files
Blood decals and Blood and dirt

im at 600 mods right now - just trying to shave it down some , get the esentials for smooth and visually appealing gameplay experience

But hey ,nice talking to you and playing your mod i Wish you more success.

I know this mod hasn't been touched in a hot minute, but does anyone know if this is compatible with mods that alter sunlight damage? It's weird to me that this wasn't thought of whilst making this mod, but covering yourself up should prevent you from taking sunlight damage, yet it doesn't.

So, I'm trying to turn to other mods that fix this. I still like this mod and want to use it, but I also don't want to be burning 24/7 because it wasn't something that got implemented.

Just wanted you to know that the latest Bethesda Backhand to players also disabled your sneak-feed and corpse-feed features. I've been using console commands to get blood potions as an equivalent. X018ef3 for those who wonder what that is. For me X is 2, since that's the SE/AE order that is locked in.

There were never any corpse-feed or sneak-feed features in this mod. What are you on about?

do i have your permission to remove the text-based output ,
    for example.

    Your vampire Mist form COTV_Vampire
after I cast it , then it tells me. " Mist Form Power is Recharging"
but i dont want that (for Immersion and screen shot purposes. ) I hope you dont mind.
Really love your mod. Sorry for Double-Post.

Hi, am a big fan of this mod. its my preferred go-to vampire overhaul.

Am recently running into some errors..
I have many many mods installed right now, so there is some conflicts. But I can't pinpoint what it is..

    you said,
if you become a vampire and you lack specific skills then it is a sign that another Vampire script is overwriting mine or has been baked into the Save.

i set up the MCM menu. i choose the effects I want. Then i Add vampirism, wait 3 days. and I become a vampire.
but all the effects are not there.

i tried a total-complete-New-Game with minimalistic mods.. this mod works perfectly fine. 0 errors detected.
i tried to run this with USSEP Unofficial Skyrim Patch. there were errors. I could not feed right away.
i disabled USSEP. feeding worked perfectly fine. 0 errors.

but I really want to run my full mod-list with this. I put your mod on the absolute highest priority of both my MM2 Panes. that didn't correct the issue.
I started a total brand new game with zero mods. Then i Loaded my complete and entire mod-list, that didn't fix the issue.

Can you help me track this issue down.. ?

    Here's More information :

I loaded up a save-game with minimal mods, where this mod worked perfectly fine.
But I loaded up my full and complete mod-list instead.
And it totally loaded fine, and the Spell-Ability-Power Magic Effects were not removed.. and all of them showed up for me, the bonus ones I put in the MCM menu..
But ! after I used the spell ability Vampire Night-Vision. then All of my Magic Effects were instantly removed.

I'm going to further update this post; am in the process of rebuilding my mod-list from the ground up - so i can find what's conflicting.
    The first thing I noticed is recently i downloaded this;
Kome's Inventory Tweaks - it has some nice icons and colorizations
    it has these as a requirement ;
    Object Categorization Framework
    I4 Interface Inventory Information Injector
    KID Keyword Item Distributor
i downloaded and installed all 4 mods. i went into the game. i have this lovely looking colored Magic Menu and Quickbar.
I click my spell Vampire Nightvision - the default one given at vampirism.
Then I check my Character Magic Sheet Record, for Magic Effects.. Every single magic effect got obliterated.

Then I uninstalled all 4 mods. I reloaded my game. Everything worked perfectly smooth as intended. There was no glitches.
Based on that, at least 1 of those Mods is Interfering.
Maybe you might know more about this.

    * * *
I finally narrowed this down.. the problem is K.I.T.
Q2. My active effects are gone! What did you do!
      A. Double check requirements, update Object Categorization Framework AND Keyword Item Distributor, active effects disappearing is a technical side effect of having old versions of Keyword Item Distributor enabled/active. Mod versions are important so PLEASE double check!!!

Hi Tx12001. Hope you're well. I was wondering if you could please have the feeding damage as an option in the MCM or let me know if there's a way to turn it off it via SSedit. Feeding is one of my favourite things as a vampire and I love spamming it as part of the role-playing so I'm not really fond of npcs taking damage or dying as a result. I imagine my vampire taking small sips and savouring it and being careful not to kill the npc and feeding as much as he likes. Combat feeding as a Vampire Lord to kill the enemy is fine though.

No. The only conversion possible is the Volkihar quest-line or use console commands that create the head color error.

Do blood potions restore all health?
I think it does not follow the magnitude criteria

Do you think you could add an option in the MCM to turn off sun damage? I am roleplaying as the cyrodillic strand of vampirism which are resistant to the sun when they are well fed. To work around this so far i've just been removing the debuff with console commands but it randomly reappears occasionally for some reason.
