Thank you all for your support and patience as I've worked on this new verison of the mod. Be sure to check the new requirements listed on the modpage and grab both the Resources and Installer main files. Uninstall Sentinel 2 completely before installing Sentinel 3.
Please feel free to post feedback and report issues as you encounter them, and I'll do my best to keep up with those reports. Also, while I don't plan on adding any more armors at this time, if you have suggestions for more NPC outfits, I'd be happy to hear them.
If you're looking to make your own addon for Sentinel, or just want more technical details about how the mod works, check out this article for more details.
Grimoire - An Enchanting Addon for Sentinel, distributes thousands of enchanted item variants throughout the game world based on Sentinel's gear. Grimoire reads your selections during Sentinel installation and adds enchanted versions of the chosen equipment to dungeon chests, merchant wares, and anywhere else enchanted items normally appear.
Highly recommend using Sentinel 3 in combination with Grimoire!
Thank you to CinderUSA for putting together a Nexus collection that features bodyslide files for Sentinel's armors. You can find that collection here.
As a reminder, Sentinel does not officially support bodyslides and I won't be answering questions or fixing issues you encounter through their use. But if you were looking for those files, here's where you can find them.
Newish to modding. I read through the description page as much as I could and I may be missing it but I can't find an answer, so I'll try here. How well does this mod play with other armor mods such as Armors of the Velothi or New Legion? Also, how does it play with Loot redistribution mods such as OWL or Scarcity?
how does one remove the dark elven armors? I would love to use vanilla-style gold colors (tried replacing the file with xavbio's one but i don't like the colors of them, too bronze-ish and not gold enough)
nvm it's just the thalmors one that are black, elven armor is still gold on Unmid Snow-Shod and using the console command to spawn it to try it
I’ve given up on Ver 3 for the moment. I’ve wrestled with it for the past week, multiple new games. I get naked NPCs, mostly guards. Console resetinventory usually fixes those. But then I’ll get heads with capes, gauntlets and boots but no armor - just an invisible body. Or the opposite - armored bodies with invisible limbs. Console can’t fix those.
Then I’ll get merchants wearing helmets. Guards with correct helmets, gauntlets and boots - but wearing sailor suits. Barkeeps wearing chainmail. Priests with just heads and invisible robes. Console often can’t fix those either.
There just seems to be a massive mismatch between outfit pieces. And, yes, I’ve downloaded the Resources. And tried them both before and after the main Sentinel file in my load order.
Don’t know if it’s a Sentinel problem or a Skypatcher problem. But I never had any problems with Ver 2 of the mod. And the problems go away when I disable Sentinel. So, I’m back to the pre-Sentinel Dark Ages for the moment.
For whatever reason skypatcher does not load the sentinel files. The log file reads a repeated, "Sentinel.esp not found or is not a valid plugin file, skipping config file." What might cause this?
are you testing it on existing save or new save created after installing Sentinel? Seems like new update either to Skypatcher or Sentinel made it to not work on existing save files that were created before installing Sentinel. With older version of Sentinel or Skypatcher (not sure but probably skypatcher since last update came a week ago) it used to work when you just wanted to test if Sentinel is working but now you have to start a new game. (I know author states that it shouldnt be used on existing saves but for testing purposes it worked before.)
I am facing a very specific problem with Sentinel and that it totally replaced all the guard's armor with the new variants and I can't seem to find the vanilla guard armor and helmet anymore. The museum from Legacy of the Dragoborn does not seem to accept variants to put on display so I'm hoping there is a patch for some guard to still wear the vanilla set so I can collect, or make the museum accept and display the variant
Is it possible to take only one armor out of this mod and make it into a standalone armor (only for me, not gonna upload it)? No idea how to do that tho
Why would you do that? Just go to credits and download the armour you want. They're all taken from different authors. This is a compilation with its unique system not an armour mod.
Is it just me or are markarth guard's armors... washed out? like, unlike sons of skyrim, their armor lacks even the slightest of dwemer metal shines, looks flat & the plates on the body armor almost match the color of the leather in certain conditions... can this be looked into? I have a feeling that whoever did the retextures for this mod forgot to apply cubemaps to them
Since you are mentioning cubemaps, Sentinel suggests to use retextures from xavbio (https://next.nexusmods.com/profile/xavbio/mods?gameId=1704) and I know for sure that some of those packs have cubemap options.
