Two questions: 1) Can we not just let your meshes overwrite the GDOS farmhouse door meshes? They use dedicated texture-paths, so if we overwrite the meshes, I can't see how they would affect this mod. Of course, if we do that, we might as well delete or not install the GDOS doors, but e.g. some modlists might prefer to tell users to just overwrite for simplicity. 2) I support the request for a version for Cl3mus' Medieval Farmhouses, which is an absolute beauty of a mod! Having said that, I installed the vanilla version of your meshes, and from looking at them in NifPreview, they look fine with Cl3mus' textures. So, can I ask why the mod would need specialised meshes? Also: thanks for making this. Its a great solution to an overlooked issue :)
1) hmm, perhaps you're right, i don't know why i didn't say in the description to simply overwrite... 2) that mod's texture is a bit different than vanilla, so the metal protruding won't match, the planks won't exactly match, but maybe you won't notice the issue, since the outline of the door is the same.
Ok. Thanks, RedBag. I'll have a look in-game (if I ever manage to finish rebuilding this LO...), and see if if the visual irregularity is noticeable. :)
Thanks, this a must have mod for me. It's such a different feel when opening the doors. If anyone wants to use this mod but not the texture overhauls supported, you can just copy the doors from those mods.
They could be, but then the vanilla texture suggests otherwise. A door within a door. Doorception. Most ancient front doors were small anyway, for better insulation.
Looking at farmhouseldoor01.nif in MO2's nif preview...
I dunno, maybe MO2's nif preview is completely unreliable... the model looks completely different when I open it in actual nifskope. I'll have to see what it looks like in game. EDIT: Yeah, it looks fine in game. Completely dissapointed in MO2's nif preview feature, then.
Thanks for the mod!
EDIT2: I was looking at the wrong SIDE of the mesh. lol The side we never see looks wrong, but who cares. Nifskope pulls up the correct side by default, but MO2's nif preview has the opposite side by default. Whew. That was a close call. :D
Every front door has the same model, and opens away from you no matter if you enter or exit the building. So the doorknob position is always on the same side relative to the player (left), no matter if you look from exterior or interior, which is impossible. That also means the doors hinge from the wrong side half of the time.
I think you may have missed one door model: farmhousedoor01.nif. It's not used often and it's usually patched out by other mods to use the load model (e.g. USSEP), and in most instances it's used as a "static" object, but I thought you may still want to patch it to use your model.
