Leaving this here in case it helps anyone else. Spent 4 hours today trying to figure out why Sightseer - Standing Stones and Skyshards 100% reproducible ctd when entering Riverwood cell with both in load order. Crash log kinda pointed at engine fixes.
I found out it was these two with engine fixes from doing the disable re enable game until I pinpointed it to these two. Then I tried disabling engine fixes with both enabled and success!
For 1.6.1130 and later, "When this feature attempts to hook into the game, it encounters an error which causes the engine to disable all plugins. This seems to be a form of "safe mode" the game goes into after a crash." -Pickysaurus
Disabled a solitude retexture mod and save got corrupted, followed all the steps and still no shot. At this point idk what the issue is, could it be something else?
I do know that disabling a mod mid playthrough can cause severe issues sometimes, stuff that this mod wouldn't fix.. It's usually not recommended to disable mods mid playthrough. Does the save work fine when you re enable the mod?
Hi, I'm having issues with crashing at random times. At first I thought it was a character overhaul mod, and I fixed all of mine. Then I got notified that QuickLoot EE was also not working, so I just disabled it and moved on. And now I believe its my SSE Engine Fixes install. I've followed multiple advice I could find and changed the .txt file, even completely reinstalled it, both part 1 and 2. This is a new issue as of today. Last week everything was working fine with no issues.
I'm kind of at a loss here and almost at wits end.. Would anyone be so kind as to look at my crash log and maybe help me further? It would be greatly appreciated <3
Oh well I just created the character yesterday, but maybe? I'll try again with a new character. It's literally still the save from the beginning in the alternate start mod and still happens any time I create a new character - corrupted saves that won't load if I die or try to load until i reload the game where sometimes it works and then sometimes the dialogue boxes won't work and sometimes they do. i have no clue what's going on or how to fix it.
I thought maybe so but it worked fine before, so I'm not sure what randomly changed. Is there someone to talk to who can help me figure out how to fix it? i've tried everything I can find online and nothing's working to fix it.
been dealing with corrupt saves for a while now, had no idea it was due to my savefile size being over 10MB. gods bless you, friend! thank you for this fix. now i can get back to playing my favorite game of all time!
so ive spent the past week trying different things but i am stuck with a game that will not keep mods enabled, i tried on the old se version with the right skse connected with only engine fixes, address library and realm of lorkahn to test if the mods were enabled, then i tried with an updated version with the right skse and everything too i just cannot seem to get it to work right, i started with what picky mentioned in that one post but ended up here to see if this file had any change i missed but im just about done with this game and ready to leave it on the shelf after all this
when I opened the toml file(it behaves like an ini and I see options= true or false depending on the option) the text was the same as the toml I already have, does this do anything for me? like is there a change deeper than that?
I'd like to thank you for two things: 1 - for helping me with the bug, 2 - To make me realize I have way too many mods (broke at 1300) and it was about time I start to filter what I really need.

But I seriously felt the absence of engine fixes. Game got janky real quick. After more testing, I only needed to disable this patch of engine fixes, which is just an updated toml, so there I knew it had to be something in that settings.
After some googling, I found this old reddit post...

MemoryManager and ScaleformAllocator set to false stopped the ctd.
I read what they do, not that I "get it". Can anyone tell me what future problems I might have from setting these to false?
You can still use Achievement Mods Enabler though 🙂
