Sanity - An Insanity Mod (SAIM) is a narrative psychological gameplay addition designed for those who roleplay struggling good characters or want a congruent transition from good to evil.

You can feel the fatigue in your limbs. It's been a tough battle, and you're certain you'd be a lot warmer and a lot happier with a belly full of mead.
But that's not the reality; these hostile lands want you dead and everyone despises you. The voices are correct; we have to take action.
SAIM is a product of passion, as everything i do in life.
SAIM tries to fill that void, providing a gameplay mechanic based on psychological models, and an evil-aligned miniquest replete with atrocious acts. Main version guides players into the initiation of the Dark Brotherhood questline, while the Standalone version doesn't lead you into that path, providing more freedom of choice.
I consider this mod an rp tool to justify the evil inside your character, and also for those who want their good characters struggle against their psyche.
- Damage received, nighttime, and time spent in dungeons will increase the likelihood of mysterious voices resonating inside your character's mind. Some attribute these voices to Sheogorath, while others believe they come from Sithis.
- To prevent your character's psyche from descending into darkness, it's essential to avoid prolonged stays in obscure places, maintain good health, and undertaking adventures only during the day. Also, Lover's Comfort earned by spending time with your spouse will protect your mind for limited time.
- If the void has already cast its gaze upon you, as you journey through certain holds and farms in Skyrim, these voices will command you to commit heinous acts against animals and people. Here's a list of locations where the miniquest will trigger once you've lost your mind:

- One way of silencing whispers forever is by crafting improvised trepanation tools from a blacksmith hammer and torture tools, and using them from your character's inventory.
- For you alchemists out there, harness the psychoactive effects of skooma and enhance them with the mythical White Phial to concoct a remedy for insanity. But be wary; White Phial won't regenerate its content ever again.

- Due to the nature of these procedures, there's a chance of suffering brain damage, decreasing your primary attributes regeneration. More than one failed attempt will result in death, no matter the method.
- Alternative ways of experiencing and dealing with suffering in both Main and SA can be found at Sanity - Addon HUB (Wintersun and Drink It Off support!). You'll also find there the 💫💖Family Friendly Patch💖💫, that removes trepanation mechanic from the mod.
