Insomnia led to me clicking around and I found your post referencing the Reddit post which was referencing my post! And it was me all along! I think! Or at least, I remember discovering this method independently a long time ago and posting about it somewhere. So maybe it was me. Well, that's insomnia for you. And thanks for making this.
From what I know Precision https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/72347?tab=description cause a crash because of the corrupted beast skeleton of Lirry.
Niyu 27 January 2024, 9:28AM Basically, the original skelleton in M'rissi is somehow broken. What this mod actually does is change the sabercat to use the vanilla skelleton, (the copied and renamed file dos nothing). But the vanilla skelleton doesn't have a saddle bone, wich is why the game can't move M'rissi with her mount when she get's on it.
This remind that Ershin told me that the mod Katana - Journey in the Shadows had the same problem with it saber cat Takiyo and had a hotfix that change the mesh "skeletonsabercatpouch.nif". The file got archive after the main file got update. What the hotfix said

Place below the main file. Mostly for those who reported crashes when using this mod along with Precision, but get it anyway! :) NOTE: This will be included in the next major update and therefore removed as an optional file when ready.
As Niyu said can someone get the file and see if it has the saddle bone so that it allows the riding movement and ask theannagarcia for permission if it does work.
I personally tested the file from Katana and it does work for Lirry, it just causes a crash when you kill Shadow, to fix that i made Shadow separate from Lirry and gave her the original Skyrim sabrecat skeleton, like what this fix does for all the sabrecats since they share a race
End result is that mounting works and Lirry doesn't crash anymore, and Shadow doesn't crash either
And i did send theAnnaGarcia a message asking if i could use the file in a fix for M'rissi
Capital! Thank you so much for your time and work hope we can see and upload in the future UPDATE found your file thanks again https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/111275?tab=description for anyone curious it's a separate esp flag as ESL that doesn't overwrite the original M'rissi esp for people that were concerned about this mod overwriting M'rissi ESP.
Seeing this mod was following the reddit post I was curious if it will also fix the problem when if you have Precision (for me v2.0.4) and you try to ride a horse and M'rissi ride Lirry and after you dismount and Lirry disappears the game will crash because Precision will crash with a corrupted skeleton. With this mod that won't occur but M'rissi will be left behind floting at the spot she mounted Lirry. So Lirry will follow you and your mount but M'rissi will be left behind. Either way thank for uploading this fix it been a while this problem persist and it great to see someone fixing it.
I use precision 2.0.4 too and M'rissi so I really need this patch or I will get a ctd no matter what with Lirry? And is it for VR player? Cause I don't play vr.
I am a PC player; Skyrim anniversary GOG edition and got the results as stated. If you get the mission where you get Lirry for M'rissi some people will get a ctd as stated on the description. If you didn't; you may get a crash when Lirry get her collar to dismiss her and you have Precision the game will crash. If you get a crash just uninstall Precision for that mission and then reinstall if you're having problems uninstalling Precision make sure you also uninstall any of it companion mod or mods that affect creatures hitboxes. You may get away by just unchecking Precision and not fighting any one until you finish the mission. When M'rissi is able to ride Lirry and you reinstall Precision your game will crash. If you have not completed Lirry's mission see if you get a ctd then install this mod and tell us your results hopefully it will help you.
Or I install this mod fix if I do get a ctd instead of uninstalling midgame a mod which is never a good idea. Doesn't this mod patch fix that very same problem?
EDIT: I just saw that precision can be uninstalled anytime midgame so if precision cause a ctd with the m'rissi mod, I'll remove it.
I don't know but if you can download and tell us the result that will be great. I hope it works; as for uninstalling mod midgame for any one that want some knowledge here a reddit post Common misconceptions with adding/removing mods midsave with comments from wankingSkeever if I read it well the reason people are told to not uninstall mod mid game it because the don't read the mod description.
I had the same issue with Precision, found the reddit post first and subsequently checked if a patch had been made, it had. Downloaded it now, though it was made for VR, and not for the problem with Precision, but it seems to have worked. Great stuff. Working well on Steam Anniversary Edition.

The instructions in that reddit post seem a bit iffy. Why are you replacing the skeleton mesh if you are modifying the race record to use a different one anyways?
If anyone is wondering and you know xEdit basics. 1. Load up this Lirry Crash Fix in xEdit 2. Under the "Race" tab, right-click and select "Copy as override" 3. Name your new ESP (I selected mine to be ESP flagged as ESL and just named "MrissisTailsofTroublesLirryCrashFix" 4. Remove this fix's ESP but keep its meshes and go back to using the original mod's ESP. 5. Should be good now, just load your new patch in your mod manager or Data folder and you should be good. (I ran mine through xEdit's cleaning just to be safe).
