About this mod

With a staff in the right hand and nothing equipped in left hand, you will be able to block and bash like 2h weapon while still able to cast. If you have a spell in the left hand, you can also block and bash if you use a dual wield parrying mod.

VERY LIKELY REQUIRES NEMESIS/PANDORA DEPENDING ON IF YOU USE ANY OTHER BEHAVIOR MODS

Description:

This mod overrides the left hand unarmed attack when you also have a staff equipped in the right hand and allows you to block and bash like a 2h weapon. Uses the warhammer/battleaxe animations.

In addition, if you are using a dual wield parrying mod, you can also block and bash with a staff in right hand and a spell in the left hand (without changing any of the vanilla behavior).

(I recommend this one and it was the one I used in testing)

Caveats:

Because of how the game engine is set up, bashing with a 0 damage weapon (aka all vanilla staves as far as I know) will not do damage or stagger any enemies. There is a perk in the esp that you can add via console (StaffBashDamagePerk) which will give 5 bash damage to staves.

Otherwise I highly recommend using an overhaul that bypasses this issue:

Blade and Blunt

One small caveat is that any particle effects from staves and spells will show on your hands while blocking and bashing (and its a bit above my current skills to figure out how to fix the node switch with staves or to dynamically disable the particle effects)

Compatibility:

Should be compatible with most mods except any that heavily overhaul the combat behavior system IF YOU USE nemesis/pandora! You can bypass these tools if and only if you have no other havok behavior mods!

Probably not compatible with skyrim VR but I haven't tried so let me know!
