Now I just wish I could get it to work reliably. Sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn't.
Has anyone tried using this in conjunction with either a block overhaul or an staff overhauls? I am trying to trouble shoot this, but am finding no conflicts, yet it still does not seem to work for me. Any direction would be appreciated.
I've modified the esp with baby's first reference alias script to give the player the bash damage perk at startup if anyone wants it, no more console. This mod is a great idea to give mages some more breathing room. Hope the animation and particle kinks can be ironed out someday.
I am extremely glad this mod exists, thanks so much for making it. I have a question though, regarding this segment of the mod description:
"Because of how the game engine is set up, bashing ... will not do damage or stagger ... I highly recommend using an overhaul that bypasses this issue: Blade and Blunt"
I am using Blade and Blunt, and bashing/powerbashing still does no damage, but it does stagger. If i am reading the above correctly shouldn't that be resolved by B&B?
tbh this issue is minor, and like the particle effects bug that the author stated they don't know how to fix, not enough of a problem to prevent the use of this mod. But if there is a fix i'd love to know about it.
UPDATE: I have tested bashing with 22 staves. None of them dealt damage except Wabbajack and the Skull of Corruption for some reason? Is this to do with Mysticism maybe? I'm using much of the Simonrim suite (B&B is part of this) and i think Mysticism changes many vanilla staves so perhaps it needs a patch?
seems to be the torch animation in the left hand bug, hmmmm. I wonder if it's another behavior mod interfering. What other behavior mods are you using?
I can confirm the torch in left hand animation is triggered when I only equip a staff in right hand and nothing in left hand, whether the torch animation is modded or vanilla. I have Goetia Animations - Enchanted Staves as well as Smooth Staff Animation installed. For now I either equip a spell in left hand when I have staff in right hand, or equip staff in left hand with a weapon in right hand. This way the bug is avoided and everything, including blocking and power attack (set to a dedicated key) all works fine.

i hold emptiness in left hand with this mod. Is this how it should be?

I typed StaffBashDamagePerk into help and nothing comes up. (yes, with a 0 at the end).
I also tryed addperk StaffBashDamagePerk for fun, but that didn't work either.
