This version uses a different approach. Ive tested it very little, but everything seems to be in place.
It removes individual items and replaces them with Owls Sub-lists versus clearing each LL/container and adding everything back. This version doesnt yet inlcude NPC edits
Once i know this is stable via feedback, I will update the Main file and include NPCs. For now the NPC files from the main file will still work along side the update.
**Disclaimer: When selecting the Solitude Docks as a starting point with Alternate Start - Live Another Life AND Legacy of the Dragonborn installed, the game will CTD during the load screen. Currently looking for a fix. If anyone as any other issues with ASLAL or any of the provided patches, please let us know in the comments and we will address them as soon as we can!!
OWL, for the most part, has two kinds of patches. 1. Vanilla Conflict resolution. These are mostly Leveled list/NPC/Container/outfit records. 2. Patches to add items from other mods into OWL's leveled lists (sublists).
This mod handles Patch type 1. and has support for a few of patch type 2. It does get tricky tho, and this mod will get a LOT more support after OWL's big update which will require this mod to update. Support will come after as we dont want to update more than we need too. Its a lot of work.
The tricky part. The vanilla records this mod edits WILL need patching with other mods that edit those vanilla records. Patches for OWL's sublist records (bash patch these or resolve conflicts in xEdit) are still usable and recommended. As to which patches do what, you would have to crack them open and take a look. But once OWL updates, more patches will be added. Ill take requests and try to cover everything that is found on the nexus.
Will the main file here and the immersive weapons patch provided in your page be compatible with the skypatched version of Open World Loot? (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/49681) Thank you
Can you please provide more detailed and consolidated, step by step instructions for noobs? ie, install OWL, install these patches, never install these patches, run Wrye Bash, failing to do this or that could cause this. Assume we're not all masters of level lists and just want our game to work and have smarter loot that is more fun.
I'd like to install OWL but I'm very fuzzy on whether it will make things better or worse when I don't plan to edit anything with xEdit and I might not have every patch installed (or not installed) in exactly the right place place in my load order.
Ok. I mean this with all sincerity. Mod Authors are not responsible for your ability to mod. You are asking me for step by step instructions in regards to basic modding. There are guides for this. And they don't come from me. I have covered what this mod does in its description, and in the sticky notes above in detail. But i will recap.

To be clear. If more than one mod edits the same leveled list (or any record), the last esp to be read by the games engine (bottom of your LO) will win, and only its edits to that record will be shown. Unless you use a bashed patch via Wyre Bash, use OWL Leveled List Additions - Synthesis Patcher by J3w3ls, or resolve conflicts in xEdit, this will always be the case. This mod has no conflicts with Vanilla records. Its place in your LO is not important. Obviously any OWL patch needs to load after it, and if you are using several OWL patches, you will need to use Wyre Bash, OWL Leveled List Additions - Synthesis Patcher by J3w3ls, or xEdit to resolve these conflicts. The patches i provide here use SkyPatcher, and their LO is also not important.
Trying to mod a game, and not learning, or simply avoiding using the tools required to do it properly, will result in issues 100% of the time. If you absolutely refuse to use xEdit as you "don't plan to edit anything with xEdit" may i suggest using a Wabbajack list?
The planned update was to make the syntax more compatible. Duvior sent me a test update which does this. Its in the downloads tab. When im finished working on the rather large SkyPatcher project for WACCF, i will circle back to this mod, and add support for other mods that have been requested. Some features being used for the WACCF Stat Patcher are still being developed, and I still have a lot of syntax to work through. Its intricate and takes time. Any one is free to make patches, ill up load them here and give them full credit for it. Ill even get them started if they are unsure how to do it, just DM me. :)
The original syntax cleared records and added everything minus whatever was replaced by an OWL sublist.
The new syntax removes only what needs to be replaced by an OWL sublist. Leaving whatever is in that record in tact. So if someone Bashed their leveled lists or resolved all conflicts in xEdit, this would be compatible.
The original syntax would have cleared the bashed/CR patch records, making it incompatible.
Wanderer993, Im not sure Im following you? Those new OWL files are standalone. Uploaded by Luridum. They require what ever Luridum as stated they require and as far as im aware, do not rely on any file here.
Hi sorry for asking, so based on the sticky notes this SkyPacthed version of OWL will get an update after the original one got updated right? And after that update do we not need any other patch or we still need patches for other mods (like Immersive weapons & armors, OBIS, etc)? I'm planning to install this and combination with 2 synthetic patchers that are available. Also I saw that you are working for WACCF SkyPatch is it still in development?
Btw thank you for sharing your mods, finally I could minimize the need for patches...
I dont have an ETA for the WACCF Stat Patcher, it is a very large mod in scope. It optionally covers all CC content, PrivateEye content, Kryptopry content, LOTD, Katana Crafting, Orcrage content, Crossbow integration, Rare Curios - Bolts Expanded, and several more. It will cover all weapons, ammo, and armors, and will solve any conflicts between all the mods covered.
The Randomized Special Loot Addon was not covered if i remember correctly. I will look at adding support for that when i circle back.
If Luridum adds his own skypatcher support, ill still leave this mod up, but will probably not continue supporting it and link to the original.
Welp Can't imagine how complicated that is.. I see, no matter how long that is I'll wait patiently and hope everything goes well, and I assume to switch between the original WACCF and the Skypatched one would need a new game right? and deleting the patches that already exist?
It will work along side the main mod. It may require a new game. Ill figure out for sure before i publish and make sure that information is available at launch.
I just dont get attached to characters or playthroughs when playing Skyrim lol. I cant count how many times ive leveled a character up to 50 and deleted it lol
Correct me if I don't understand this correctly - this mod resolves leveled list conflicts between all the different OWL patches without need to make bashed or custom patch?
Even though I debate whether I enjoy the MLU or OWL progression philosophy more, when this is released I'm going to try it out simply to reduce patching hell.
*Edit: forgot to thank you for your work on it. Also adding a request because one cannot show gratitude on Nexus without requesting new features: Divine Wardrobe integration patch would be appreciated whenever you have less on your plate.
Does this make OWL and Sentinel compatible now? I'm not super knowledgeable about levelled lists so I've been trying to find out from comments on various pages.
I saw you said before that once OWL got its next update you would update this which should make it compatible with Sentinel. Both OWL and this mod have been updated since then so is that the case now? It's just that it's not one of the mods specifically called out on page so just want to be safe. Thanks.
No i have not made a Sentinel patch yet. Depending on how Sentinel uses SkyPatcher, it may be available. The updated file here only removes specific items from NPCs, Containers, Outfits, and Leveled Item lists and replaces them with OWL leveled lists. If Sentinel isnt clearing NPCs, Containers, Outfits, and Leveled Item lists , then they should work together.

Hello, I've been using Optional Quick Start for testing, and I am also experiencing CTDs. However, it doesn't happen every time; sometimes it runs normally. I'm writing this here for others who might be using the same setup. *The OWL - SkyPatched Test Update version also experiences the same issue.
We are still unclear on what is causing this crash. It seems to be tied to alternate start mods tho, as i can get the CTD without using LOTD with just ASLAL. I've also run the issue by Zzyxzz, and he also doesnt understand why it happens, but believes it has to do with containers.
Yes, the CTDs occur very randomly. Sometimes they happen immediately when I press "New Game," while other times everything runs smoothly until I first enter Solitude. I am certain that everything works fine after disabling this mod or SkyPatcher itself. I hope you can find a solution. Thank you!
Does it also happen when using the Solitude start of Alternate Perspective, when using LotD and its respective patch, do we know? If we don't know, would you like me to test it out on a minimal testing setup?

By OWL update you keep mentioning you mean the one that will completely move to Skypatcher? Or what is this update?

There is a chance OWL will be getting its one SkyPatcher files directly at some point. I know Luridum as been looking into himself.
There is a soft update for this OWL. A test build that implements things in a more compatible way with other mods.
For now I'll try the current OWL SkyPatched with the test build and patches until everything gets updated.
Oh, btw may I ask about the ETA for the WACCF SkyPatched release? I don't intend to rush the update just curious..
