Finally came around to upload the cleaned file with a small increase in fog brightness. I am still very busy but hope to return to modding in the near future.
I like it in the caves and ruins, looks really good. It makes it a little darker without having the lighting mods like you said, But it also enhances the fog inside the buildings which I'm not that fond of. Endorsed!
The screenshot of the Bannered Mare is a good example. The back of the room looks extremely dark even though there are lights back there. The same problem exists in caves and dungeons, but it's less noticeable. I still opted for a mod that removes fog entirely, because it lets you see the true level of light and the warm colours even at a distance. It's more realistic than having everything shrouded in black fog until you get closer.
At first I was in disagreement with VictorCreed2 comment, but after playing with this mod installed for a while I have discovered that this is indeed what is happening. The mod modifies the fog to be darker and although it makes it more transparent it does have a darkening effect.
You can read about the issue in the bugs tab. I just forgot to remove some records in xEdit.
As for the brightness: It is now 70% darker instead of 75%. I did this because I noticed some sort of "fog clipping/vanishing" in different areas that was eliminated by making it a bit brighter. The difference is negligible. I'll upload a picture of dead drop falls for comparison. Ignore the gradient lines as they also appear with v 1.0 installed and are probably caused by changes in my skyrim.ini.
Edit: I cleaned the v1.0 I had installed and yea, there were over 2100 identical to masters records. Going to roll with this and see how it looks. I just don't like haze/fog in interiors or exteriors unless it makes sense in a particular setting aka I like crystal clear environments unless it's raining or for instance up in the mountains or in the swamps around Morthal, etc. Regardless, thanks for your effort in this regard.
Why? Just curious. I played as an archer often using ELFX and never noticed an issue. What specifically about ELFX made it "impossible" to play as an archer in your view?
Oh didn't know someone made a fog removal mod for SSE. Guess I'll have to change the description . The second linked mod removes the fog meshes not ambient fog, though. Anyway my mod doesn't remove the fog it makes it darker therefore its effect is somewhere in between vanilla and no fog mods: no fog clears up your entire view while darkened fog clears up your near view but keeps distance vision obscured.
