I'm using the middle-smoothness white patchy brown rocks with ERM, and these are BY FAR the most impressively real-looking mountain textures I have ever, ever seen. The PBR and parallax effects are absolutely astonishing. Even using VR, where parallax effects are often slightly odd or even glitchy-looking, these are perfect, even up close. Incredible!
Looks indeed amazing! Do you mind my asking, just to be sure here, as I'm trying to run the same. For PBR, we don't need complex material stuff, right? We can just get ERM (standard version) and overwrite it with Vanaheimr PBR and run PG?
That is my understanding, yes -- you just need the PBR textures and a mesh that can support them (which PG will create). Complex materials are a different way to try and accomplish the same thing as PBR, you don't do PBR in addition to complex material.
@ NightDelTh: It depends of the daytime, in real life, the mountains in Norway are brownish at morning or evening when sun goes down, at daytime, sunny weather they are very greyish, with the right ENB, i use the fantastic SkiesAbove ENB, or NAT3 with its original ENB, you can get the same result with the grey installment, with the brown option, mountains become very dark at evening or sunrise, but this depends heavy on your ENB. for CS user it makes not so much a different, because the lightning is way more simple.
Hello, sorry bother you again, about Brown or Grey what do you believe that's is the canonical version? I was reflectin about what was the realistic choice of color for mountains, I mean skyrim look's like denmark right? more then norway, ok it;s just inspiration but u know.
Skyrim's vanilla mountains are light gray, so I think the gray version is more canonical. I've seen some people saying that the brown version with white patches is very close to real life. I't gonna be down to personal preference I believe.
Definitely grey. And the grey version still has a warmer tone so can look brownish in some instances (sunset etc). I use grey because it matches better with all the stone buildings around the map.
what patchs? you talk about brown with white spot? Or some patch? I'm get interested now haha I'v search and them see that's Scandinavia and Ireland are grey rocks, So Skyrim must be inspired on Scandinavia right?
Hi, If I use the Complex Material or True PBR version that is compatible with the ERM. Is this also compatible with the LOD Add-On Mod that is used to generate distant LOD for mountain? Thanks,
