You can easily patch everything yourself with Synthesis.
1. Download and install Synthesis as you would any other executable. 2. Run it through MO2/Vortex. 3. Click on the "git repository" icon in the top left row, 4. Search for: facefixer 5. Click the + to add it to your patch list. 6. On your patch list, click on the newly added facefixer patch and then click the settings tab. 7. In the search box, look up "unofficial skyrim special edition patch.esp" (it'll populate as soon as you start typing). Click to add it. 8. Next search up "faithful faces.esp". Click to add it. 9. Click the white arrow to run the patcher. 10. Make sure to activate the plugin (synthesis.esp) and place it at the bottom of your load order.
This is a lot of steps because I oversimplified it. The whole thing takes no more than 30 seconds to do.
You can do this with additional mods that touch NPC records, like AI Overhaul (just add it to your list, like you did USSEP). You can also use multiple NPC replacers (the game will use the facegen of the mod loading last). So what you want is all non-replacer mods first on your load order (USSEP, AIO, etc.), then NPC replacers (in order of preference, with the one you want to win any conflicts being lower in the orde).
In case anyone wanted to know patching mods with synthesis is really easy and should not take longer than 3 minutes including set up. There are a few 'packages' you can use for different types of mods yet facefixer works just fine for facegen and NPC records.
Thank you, I've used Synthesis before, but wasn't aware of this patcher. That will make things much easier and give me better piece of mind for my load order.
I'd suggest uploading loose version of the mod as since .bsa only work if there is no loose FaceGen from some other mod replacers. Took me some time to understand why didn't work. But otherwise the mod looks good, I love it.
Well, the point is kinda that this is a base line and if you want other replacers you should be loading them after anyway. But I can add a loose version anyway
I did want to try to add KS Hairdos using KS Hairdos Export Rig (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/33781), but I don't want to lose any of the changes by regenerating facegen with the Creation Kit. Is there a way I could use both (maybe regenerating facegen with your changes *and* KS export rig)?
One last question. I used the HPH xedit scripts to replace NPCs with the high poly head and generated facegen in the CK (and I had all the prerequisite mods installed). Everyone has KS Hair and their faces look good. But if I disable the plugin and try to load the game with just the facegen, everyone has black face. The only fix is to generate without HPH, but then they have dookie faces.
How did you generate facegen with HPH and not have blackface?
I only have Faithful Faces, Vanilla Hair Remake and Vanilla Hair - Salt and Wind for NPCs installed.
I just noticed Lillith Maiden-Loom in Whiterun, she doesn't look like the Vanilla version done high poly. She looks identical to High Poly NPC Overhaul, younger looking with dirt on her face.
Have a lot of the NPCs been changed from their Vanilla looks? This is a really amazing mod, I just didn't read anywhere about them being changed from Vanilla, I wasn't sure if you were trying to give them different looks, or remain close to Vanilla. Keep up the great work! THANKS
Might be a thing with High Poly Head + EFM, since I don't edit any of the vanilla meshes directly. Try it with the non high poly Faithful Faces and if its there then its definitely an EFM thing
I thought Morps are only for working in Body Slide and the Racemenu? I'm assuming by EFM you mean Expressive Facegen Morph. If it's an EFM issue, are you able to correct this? Hmm maybe other NPC are also being affected? By the way, what does she look like for you, the same? I don't have EFM installed, do I need to?
Then the change is done by Expressive Facegen Morphs. Not really much I can do about it since most of the face aesthetics (i.e not looking like vanilla blockheads) is done by EFM, and no you don't need it although its nice to have for your own characters.
You'll have to excuse my ignorance, lack of understanding here, I'm not lost.
I thought this is only needed when using Body Slide or the Racemenu. So once you are done using it, that's it, the NPC have the look you created? If you created your own NPC how can Lillith's face look the same in two different mods, Faithful and a completly different mod High Poly NPC Overhaul ?
I also thought EFM is the only Facegen morph in existence, so I'm confused as to how this isn't happening on other NPC mods. Like you either need it, and some have figured out a way around this, or it's not needed.
Again, EFM is not needed to use this mod. Only if you want the player to look similar. But it was used to generate the faces, hence why it is the same face in that other NPC mod (and probably a few more) - because its simply the default facial sculpt created by Bethesda but using the morphs from EFM. Most NPC mods do not use the default sculpts, hence the difference
Any way to remove facial dirt on npcs face? using remove facial dirt but only work on the low poly one, on this mod though everything is fine except that here is the image Imgur: The magic of the Internet ignore the honkers i tried chunli preset now i can't change it back lmao
great it's working but better without honestly because now every female has same make up and face mole.
also obviously my error but what i need to do to install this mod, like the step, what i did is
install this mod testing in game didn't work so i install easynpc scan build it worked, butttt on whiterun i saw olfina still has low poly and that gray haired granny
Sounds like you are missing some recommended NPC visual mods, I listed all the ones I used on this mod page. For testing purposes you don't really need EasyNPC just load this mods left and right side after everything else.
Yeah right now i use that face mole from cbbe, but yes only female, the male one still has dirt on their face, which kind of options? maybe i missed those like i missed the requirements.
Hi! Just wanted to say this is by far my favorite npc overhaul on the nexus :D but i've noticed this weird bug where a few NPC's like Gerdur have VERY dark makeup compared to the screenshots. could this be from facegens i previously generated with another npc overhaul i used to use? I'm also using BnP skin and the makeup that comes with it if that helps, and I also use RSV. thanks! heres a screenshot.
for me ralof has black face other version is working fine. i am using this with nordic faces. I read the mod page i just overwrite the faithfull faces and it works sorry for the unnessasory coment

Thanks so much! I really appreciate the help and all your work. Everything looks great with KS Hair, btw :)

If it's changeable and you can get away from the default sculpts, I hope you'll be able to, so they have different looks.
