5.0 adds another 393 lines to Jenassa, including quest reaction for the Companions, the College of Winterhold, more side quests, as well as a new approval system, more story interaction, and a romance quest.
They're either written by AI or it received very little proofreading/beta-reading.
Look, I get it, it's a free mod made by one guy. I'm not saying all mods need professional voice acting and scripting in order to be worthwhile. But it's really disappointing to see these mods dominating the search results for "companions/followers - 1 year - sort by endorsements", with little to no criticism. That's how I got here, anyway. This is the second-most popular follower mod this year, right under "Ashe - Crystal Heart", a mod with two industry VA's, Anna Rust and Sean Chiplock. I thought the TES community unanimously agreed that the vanilla dialogue often fell short in both delivery and script, but now we're out here praising literal robot voices? I'm sorry, I just don't get it.
These dialogue expansions aren't "high quality", they're high quantity. 21 expansions since March of last year, I believe? I highly doubt the script isn't AI-generated in some capacity in order to output at that speed. That's like one every 2-3 weeks. I don't want to insult the author, but as someone who has had to read essays that were obviously AI-generated, I can't tell whether the script is genuine or not, and that's not a compliment to AI's accuracy or whatever.
"21 expansions since March of last year, I believe? I highly doubt the script isn't AI-generated in some capacity in order to output at that speed."
Is it unrealistic for a writer who has written for 10 years to write 50 - 100 lines a day?
"These dialogue expansions aren't "high quality", they're high quantity."
They are written to match vanilla Bethesda writing style for maximum immersion. Check my mod Death Consumes All to see what my actual writing style is like.
I am just curious if you plan to ever have dialogue between Jenassa and Lucien? I run with Lucien (and Rumarian) 100% of the time and I'd love to see some interaction between them. I am trying the mod out today, so if this is included already, so sorry!
Having trouble with installing this mod as part of the Follower Dialogue Expansion collection, I can't get it to download or install getting this error message for "Failed to install dependency":

The error message for both is saying:
"Vortex needs to access "C:\Users\*MyUser*\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\downloads\skyrimse\FDE Jenassa-120255-4-0-1738427207.zip" but it's write protected. When you configure directories and access rights you need to ensure Vortex can still access directories. This is usually not a bug in Vortex."
I can't even manually delete it from the Vortex downloads folder (the file has 0KB size) although everything else can be. I'm using Vortex version 1.13.7 (only installed on my new system on Wednesday), a regular Nexus account, and Skyrim AE 1.6.1170.0 on Steam with SKSE64 installed.
Edit: "Fixed" by restarting Vortex. Saw a comment on the Faendal mod with the same issue and they mentioned making sure nothing else was running like Bodyslide or even Skyrim (not that I'd try to mod a running game but...). Didn't think about that earlier because other mods were still adding alright just not this one :-)
Over all I think your companion mods are high quality. My only issue is the responses we have to choose from aren't written at all like the vanilla game. There's some basic problems like:
Your mod:
What made you want to fight?
Refined, more vanilla like:
Why did you fight? Why fight?
Simpler, cleaner, more readable.
Then there are more serious grammatical issues in your mod:
Good. Bullies deserved to be taught a lesson.
The tense of "deserved" does not agree with "to be taught." To a natural English speaker, this sounds a bit awkward. Because there is a temporal difference.
I'd consider having someone to look over the lines in preproduction so you can avoid these errors. I'd be more than willing to look over your script before you use AI to make the dialogue and provide general feedback for improvements.
Hi there! It seems you left the comment about Uthgerd on the Jenassa page.
1. What made you want to fight? This is to make sense of Uthgerd's reply, "our blood?", as it is an object rather than a cause, "what" would be better than "why". If I used "why do you fight", then Uthgerd's reply would have to be "because of our blood?" which would be less impactful.
2. Good. Bullies deserved to be taught a lesson. It should probably say "the bullies deserved to be taught a lesson" because it was an event in the past and the bullies were specific.
Fantastic work Anbeegod, on all your dialogue expansions. I can't imagine having a play through without these now. Thanks for the awesome mods and best wishes.
I haven't downloaded this myself, I just saw it on the nexus home page for Skyrim SE/AE.
I was wondering if you could make a Dialogue expansion for the following mod: Miraak - Dragonborn Follower SE. I understand there's already a mod called: Miraak Follower Dialogue Plus. But perhaps having even more voices for Miraak, would be nice. Considering Miraak doesn't have that many voice lines. But is still unique, just like the Serana Dialogue Add-On, for a example.

The mod author's reply was "no." So I think that settles it.
