Mod works. Be sure to add in the description that the quest will begin after completing the main quests of the Thieves Guild. This is not written on the mod’s page, and for about half a year I periodically returned to this mod, wondering what was wrong and why the mod didn’t work? This is obvious from the comments. I confirm. You need to complete all the Thieves Guild quests for the Rune quest to become available. For some reason, the author does not consider it necessary to add this to the description.

I'm having trouble finding which ship I'm supposed to be searching to find information on Rune's past. I thought it was the Orphan's Tear but I'm not finding anything.
Without this mod, Rune's information is in Orphan's Tear. It's in a chest on the sea bed in one half of the shipwreck. I don't know what this mod adds to the quest, but the vanilla quest was disappointing.
Sadly. For me, Rune is stuck saying "Name's Rune. Yeah, Rune… Like you're thinking." He does not do his usual spiel, of telling me where he got his name. I have an up-to-date version of Skyrim... What am I missing…?
This is very strange. I created a new build for 1.6.1170.0.8. I installed this mod and checked it in sseedit - there is no conflict. I started a new game, joined a guild, but Rune doesn’t have a new topic. Does the quest have a requirement? I don’t understand why it doesn’t work for me on different builds of the game. Your other mod - Sebilla works.
In case anyone is wondering, I looked through all the records and scripts in this mod and this mod seems very compatible with other Thieves guild mods out there. For example I'm using "Thieves Guild for Good Guys" (which makes TONS of edits to the quests) and "Thieves Guild Alternative Endings" and "Thieves guild for good guys stop giving gold to everyone in dialogue fix" and there are 0 conflicts with any of those. Great mod, endorsed!
btw, please add BEES to the mod requirements on the main page, I think that will help people who are still using prior versions of Skyrim.
Hmm, sounds like it's not installed properly. I've tested it on existing saves and it's all worked as expected. No other issues reported by anyone else either. Might be worth looking in xedit to see if there's any conflicts or anything like that :)
I have two identical builds on 1.6.640.0.8 and 1.6.1170.0.8. On version 1.6.640.0.8 BEES are available, of course. Your mod does not work on both versions. Logically there is nothing to conflict with, but I don’t have the time or desire to find out. Mod deleted.

no, i don't have BEES. and still can't get it to start up. ran it through xedit, moved the load around (relearning modding its been a bit lol) and still nadda. :( i wanna have hope tho <3 Rune has always been a favorite char. he's so sweet.
If you're using an older version of Skyrim, you need BEES to use this mod. This mod was created on the new version of the CreationKit, so won't work with previous versions of Skyrim.
@kiwifruitt Basically it's an extended papyrus functions that allows older version of the game to load newer version of plugins. So, if you have a 1.5.97 edition of Skyrim, you can use the mods that are made for the latest version using this DLL
