1.1 added support for Switch Target feature, but it will look a bit different in tight spaces where the fake 1st person camera kicks in. During testing due to nature of this preset, that is placing the camera far back in order to see both speakers, the camera was clipping into walls for example inside inn's where people are sitting in corners next to walls. I simply adjusted it so that fake 1st person will be similar looking to default ACC settings, that is just zooming on the current speaker only.
Added some comparisons pics. I zoomed far back and placed camera behind that campfire before entering dialogue so that there wouldn't be enough space for 3rd person and so that fake 1st person camera kicked in. True 3rd person camera remains the same like in previous version.
So I saw a video where the camera switched back and forth between the speakers, showing them from the other person's perspective, but without a view of the person listening in third person. In other words, all you see is the person speaking, nothing of the person listening. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.
For me sometimes its 3rd person and sometimes its 1st. I play without either force first or third person, maybe try that first, so it's just whatever perspective I'm using at the time in conversation. Sometimes when it feels like it it alternates to view from their eyes waiting for you to speak. Good luck!
Edit: in the description of that "Switch Target" setting in MCM from improved alternate camera mod is: "Switch between player and target in 3rd person cam. Will switch to "fake" first person if there is not enough room for a 3rd person cam. Iminitate Witcher 3 dialogue style, kinda. You have to set Lock On to checked and have force bforcefirstperson to Unchecked. Make sure to uncheck this feature if you don't want to use it"
If you've been fiddling with the settings alot maybe try disabling the improved conversation camera mod and see if that looks better, I know you'd lose the MCM but if you actually prefer it maybe you wouldn't need to fiddle with it. With my experience it seems to behave differently with and without that MCM addition to the mod being used.
maybe go into your mod manager and delete and reinstall the three mods, (the main one, the MCM one and this one) fully so theres no lingering settings and just use solely people's presets and see if it's any better for you. I just did that and it's better than it was, camera behaves better. Also for some reason however smooth cam support makes it jolt everytime I start a conversation so I play with that off.
Also sorry dunno why I felt the need to say so much 🤣
I could not make it work. disabled smoothcam dialogue and installed simple version of "improved convo mod" but vortex still says "some mods are redundant" and I cant see this preset's effects in-game
This was so needed and thank you!!! Just one question I cannot get around, same as the original:
In third person, is there a way to stop the wierd camera flip in conversation and just make make a cut instead? It looks so goofy. I just put the bSwitchTarget=0 instead, feels much better, I guess I just like my character speak too, just CANT with the way camera flips. Not a deal breaker.
Again, thank you thank you thank you haha. Endorsed
From what I have checked, no. You can set up camera speed to a minimum of 100ms which will make the transition faster, but in the end transition will always happen. Changing this into instantaneous switch between actors is something only the original creator of ACC can do.
I had a question. Could it be possible to trigger this view when we talk in the 3rd person view only? And so keep the 1st person when we start the dialogue in 1st person?
Is there a way to keep only the over the shoulder 3rd person view? Was hoping to keep it in that mode when the cam would switch to face the character but at times it would go to the 1st person view from the NPCs perspective. I have clicked force third person but it seems to just transition to 1st whenever
bug in the main version of the alternate cam... It bothered me a lot, I used that poorly resized camera for 6 months, now, in addition to being aware of the problem that bothered me, together with its preset, It looks like a completely new mod, just gratitude.
