Hi, does anyone know what mod or setting is preventing me from modifying the compass/map marker sizes? I can't seem to get any SkyHUD presets to work correctly despite changing the scale values in SkyHUD.txt. I know officially - no support for modded lists - but I just want to know what's been deliberately put in place to keep the compass and map markers large. Thanks.
*Update: Nvm. Found out it was Bruma's custom map markers from the official FOMOD that triggered persistent map/compass layouts. All I did was disable custom map markers on the official Bruma FOMOD, instead .. used the Bruma markers addon from COMAP, and now customization UI works on the compass and maps.
I just made a clean SKYRIM AE installed not in program file (followed Arcanaeum instruction to use steam tool) start the game and works then I installed Arcanaeum and started: the game crash after the splash screen without giving an error in any available log
any clue?
PS funny thing, I tried to disable all of the mod in MO and start the game: different splash screen but same crash
First of all, I would like to thank you for this light modpack, and for all the work you put in it. Not many of this quality out there.
I did read the entire modlist you provided, and I was wondering if adding on my side some mods could break the modlist in terms of compatibility or something else, especially concerning ;
- Adding modern animations for combat ; - Adding an economy overhaul mod so it is rebalanced in some way (mainly making earn gold more difficult and buy stuff more expensive) ; - Adding wearable lanterns ; - Adding a mod to loot corpses and stuff dynamically, without having to be redirected in the menu while searching ; - Adding a quick action wheel.
If not, I'll surely add them manually by myself if possible, eventually with recommandations from your part concerning the compatibility and such.
I love your modlist, frankly, I think even the well curated ones have some bloat in then, but yours is pretty good without most of it. Allows us to use it as a base for especific modding.
How do you recommend going about adding modern animations for combat and stuff?
Technically I had hacked together a patch to remove the custom skill tree as I didn't think it was in line with vanilla. That itself was broken (not stormcrown) and I didn't feel it was worth trying to hack stormcrown apart any more to get just the shout balance changes.
I'm a very introverted person so don't use Discord, I just wanted to give a heartfelt thank you to Guitarninja for this list. I've been trying to mod and enjoy playing Skyrim for about 6 years, even after upgrading to a very decent rig I had nothing but misery trying to run the massive, 2500-3000 mod lists on Wabbjack. Performance was always horrid, they didn't feel like Skyrim. I'd given up, I could no longer enjoy vanilla but I didn't like the lists and I can't use Mod Organiser or Dyndolod. I pined for Skyrim all the time, all I wanted was to make a vanilla+ list with a lodgen, the best added content and perk changes, bug fixes, and lightweight texture upgrades. Your list is everything I've been wanting. It runs incredibly and I can enjoy my favourite game again just like in 2011 only better.
To me this is the best looking lightweight modlist currently on the market. Super stable experience. I feel like I'm actually playing Skyrim (not some adult fantasy souls-like game) but more beautiful and with a bunch of QOLs. Big thumbs up.
I feel the exact same way! It's everything I wanted to make myself with a modlist, but I am useless with Mod Organiser lol. This to me is the real "Special Edition" and maintains all the feels of OG Skyrim whilst buffing and refining all the important stuff. To me, anything else added in is nothing but bloat and detracts from the experience. I tried Lorerim and Elysium etc. they made my PC turn into a jet engine, I couldn't get 60fps and they felt like different games.

edit: just to close the thread, the problem wasn't windows 11 but bitdefender, disabling practically on all exe fixed my issue!!!
Would you mind explaining exactly what you did to solve it, please?
Edit:
For some reason, the master file for Crossbows of Skyrim.esp wasn't being recognized.I just disabled and re-enabled the mod, and that fixed the issue!
Thanks again for your amazing work, and sorry for the trouble.
Solved.
