Haven't done enough testing to narrow down which one it is, but this doesn't seem to be compatible with one or more of my horse mods. Like others have mentioned, the player animation for dismounting works fine, but when triggered the horse basically becomes inverted and bugs out.
These are the horse mods I'm using: Craftable Horse Barding Oblivion Horses SC_HorseReplacer Equestrian SC Overhaul Horse Animation and Idle Carry My Stuff Horse Simplest Horses Horsemen Torch Wield Fix and Mount Tweaks
If you'll ever find out which one causes the incompatibility, let me know, I'll list it on the mod page. :-)
I'd hazard a guess that mods that alter the horse's geometry could be a problem - but then, I've copied the original horse's positions from the vanilla animation, so it's a bit puzzling as to why it could bug out on non-standard ones. (I've tested it on Arvak and it worked fine there...)
Hello! Paired Animation Improvements has an optional file "Horse Mount and Dismount Double Sound Fix", it contains paired_dismount.hkx too. Does this mod fix the same sound-play problem?
Yeah, what PAI's optional file does is edit out the SoundPlay.NPCHorseDismount annotation from the vanilla animation. I just didn't put that in mine from the start, so it should be free of that double sound problem as well :-)

I'm also getting this bug
Only issue I can report is it doesn't play well with:
- Immersive movement -
both are affecting the horse movement speeds.
I'll attempt a work around.

Animations are the only thing I can't backport atp and LE doesn't like SE hkx unfortunately...
People don't realize how important stirrups are. heck, I'd say 99% of people who'd ridden a horse well could never ride a horse wo them.
I just didn't put that in mine from the start, so it should be free of that double sound problem as well :-)
