um, this maybe too much to ask, but can u explain his story in short plz? all i know is he wielded anglachel/gurthang after accidentally killing beleg with it...this helm was his, he married his sister under glaurung's influence, and yep, slayed it later just to realize that...later commited suicide on gurthang...a tragic story...but all these are kinda feel like snatched from here an there...not a compact story..can u plz give a view
Turin's father, Hurin, was the only one Morgoth was able to capture alive after the Battle of Unnumbered Tears. Morgoth was so angry about this one man daring to challenge him to his face (Hurin spat in Morgoth's face when he was brought in front of him) that he cursed his children to suffer horrible fates, and forced Hurin to watch from Morgoth's castle.
Because of the curse, no matter what good Turin tried to do, it would ultimately backfire in the worst possible way. He attempted to create a militia operating out of a secret mound owned by a Petty-Dwarf named Mim, only to have Mim become jealous and angry and betray the militia to Morgoth's forces, leading to them all dying but Turin. He saved a relative of the King of the Hidden Fortress under the Mountain, only to have the relative's girlfriend fall for him, causing both a horrible betrayal and the fall of the Hidden Fortress. He rushed to save said girlfriend, only to get there just in time to see her corpse. He ended up being recused by a village of humans hiding nearby, and eventually became the guy they relied on to defend them from danger... And then he found a mute girl on the tomb of the girl he loved, and brought her home to help her. That lead to both him and the leader of his village falling in love with her, and then the leader tried to betray Turin to the dragon Glaurung. Turin was able to slay Glaurung, only to learn that the mute girl was indeed his sister, and both her muteness and her lack of memory were because of Glaurung's magic. As you mentioned, he then killed himself... At which point Morgoth released Hurin, knowing he'd cause more damage if loosed, and Hurin, in a quest to take revenge, revealed even MORE secrets that the opponents of Morgoth wanted to keep hidden...
According to Tolkien's notes on the end of the world of Middle Earth, Turin actually comes back from the dead in the final battle and is the one who ultimately kills Morgoth for good.
Awesome. Any chance we'll be seeing Anglachel/Gurthang in the future? If anyone from Tolkien's mythology was born with a dragon soul, it'd have to be Turin!
Edit: scrolled down after posting this. Good news, and my thanks!
Dude, I was literally searching to see if anyone had made this a couple weeks back. Good job! Talk about a helmet from the Tolkienverse that fits the Elder Scrolls.
superb idea to bring tolkien legendarium's items...i hope more are coming like anglachel, belthronding, angrist etc... BTW, since this is a unique, why make it craftable..why not keep it unique found somewhere
That's something I'm planning to do at some point once I figure out how to. Also, I've done a Gurthang sword in this weapon pack, which I'm planning to add to as well https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/127522?tab=description
