If you use something like Seasonal Landscapes, you could rename my snowgum nif to the reach tree nif and make sure it loads after Seasonal Landscapes. Otherwise you would need to edit the seasons.ini and esp of my file to get it to work. I could also try and make something up if you want.
That would be fantastic to replace reach trees with seasonal snowgum if you're willing. But I can say that I tried to rename the nifs and of course it works but the model itself is too short so all the snowgums are flying above ground a little. I assume it could be fixed in nifscope then?
That looks like it would work, changing the z axis in nifskope. I checked reachclifftree01.nif from ulvenwald and it has a z axis of -35 while snowgum is at 0. I'll play around with it and see how it goes.
Hey thank you so much I tried it and it looks like it replaces some reach trees but for some reason some of the reach trees are not swapped still, I checked the seasons folder and it looks like it should replace all the reach trees, I even made it so that all your ini files load last but still no dice Does it work properly in your game?
upd: I just had a thought, is it possible that some ini file replaces the model earlier and that means your ini file can't replace it anymore cause it doesn't recognize it? I don't know if that's how it works
Maybe. I tried naming it xAshley as Ashley was causing ulvenwald's swaps first (? I think?). I do have a bunch of different tree mods doing a bunch of different things at once and my mod seemed to work okay so far. I'll upload some pics of how it looks.
It looks like an eyecandy! Now only have to figure out what's wrong in my load order... But it looks really good already even with some trees swapped I'm using Seasonal Landscapes, I feel like it overwrites somehow
I found the easiest thing to do with another mod that is making things switch is to find the related object in that mod's swap.ini and then just delete it. You can always redownload the ini again if you mess up. Ex. go in seasonal landscapes seasons ini for spring, summer, autumn, winter, find the reach trees, erase them and save the ini. An easy way to see what mods may hold a seasons folder is type _SPR or _SUM or _AUT or _WIN into the M02 data filter (if using MO2) then you can open up whatever ini you see that may relate to (for example) trees and browse it to see if it could be causing some switches.
I think I fixed it almost! I'm using MO2 for 2 years and only now found out how useful "Data" window can be... I played with the mod for 10+ hours and found only one problem is that reach trees (possibly from other mods, I forgot to check or maybe vanilla, I'll come back to them) that are placed in Morthal are replaced but floating above ground so possibly the model should be edited a little bit more
I blame magic. Also the tree comes from Australia from my Google search and that's half way around the world for me. My knowledge on how it acts in winter is little to nothing lol
This is easy for you to do if you want in the interm. Just copy the autumn nif and give it the same name as the winter nif (delete the old winter nif after) :)
