I think the reason vampires weren't allowed into the soul cairn because Molag Bal owns their souls and when they die, they go to coldharbour instead, same with lycanthropes but to my knowledge, soul trapping takes full priority over where your soul goes after death.
Hey, I figured I'd reach out here, just because I'm more likely to get a response. I know you're not the OG author, but I was wondering if you ever came across a bug that doesn't allow souls to enter the soul cairn after you soul trap them? Quite a few people on the other mod had some similar issues but to no prevail. Sov works but the cairn doesn't. I have everything installed (required mods), but it doesn't work for soul trapping. Since you deal with modding a bit and you've dealt with modding IN the soul cairn for the Afterlife mod, I was wondering if you might know a work around, or if you could possibly be a saving grace and have an idea for a patch lol
I am not sure if this will help as I haven't had this issue for awhile now, I do not remember what I did back then. I do not recall meddling with the original esp except for making this patch.
I will ask some questions but do pardon me if you find the questions too basic.
a) Have you tried changing the settings in the MCM? Like turning off some options, leave MCM, return and changed it to your desired setting. For Unique settings, do understand that not all named NPCs are flagged as Unique in Skyrim.esm thus will not enter either realms should you picked the Unique NPC Only options (i.e Silvia, The Caller). This will not be overridden even if their editorIDs are added in the DISTR file.
b) What versions are you using for SPID? I'm still on SPID 7.1.3. Try downgrading from the RC versions if your current save file allows. For Papyrus Ex, I'm still using 5.6.1.
c) In the SPID DISTR file, I added more entries to reinforce the mod. (i.e Jora added for Sovngarde (0xA66), got killed by the butcher and off she goes to Sovngarde.)
d) Also in the original DISTR file, there is a stray hyphen left at the end of the Nord section (0xA66). I removed that in my DISTR.
That is all I can contribute. Do let me know if there is any improvements to your issue.
it has to do with the actor limit fixe mod use the old skyrim SE one at the bottom right before old files https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/32349?tab=files . it will work guaranteed =-) I am using it with Novolus right now
I have never seen this mod and am going to try it out. What about named NPCs that die? Could another place be made for them to go while they are waiting to be judged by God? Maybe Sheogorath's realm after the quest is done. 😄I think they go to a black room anyway. I am not sure how Skyrim death works.
The Afterlife mod originally allows Nords who died in battle to go to Sovngarde (unless soul trapped). Most NPCs soul trapped by player (with the spell and have empty black soul gems/Azura Star) go to the Soul Cairn. The original mod, however, restricts undead NPCs from Soul Cairn.
By default, without any mods, dead NPCs are either simply disabled or will end up stored in the dead body cleanup cell.
